MemberThat’s pretty good for those looking for the 2gb RAM. The alternative is to get an upgraded one from eBay for a premium price.

MemberWelcome to the forum 71notout (whats that nick in reference to – age?!)
There are a few Samsung fans on the forums who it seems never had a choice but to go for the NC10! But I think the rest of us are converted too!
Enjoy the site 🙂
jez
MemberThat sounds awesome. I’m sure there are many people that will only need the 160gb supplied but we all know there will be plenty that need that extra space. Being able to carry round that data so easily to clients seems the perfect application for a little netbook.
Thanks for reporting back 🙂
jez
MemberI think he’s the only person I’ve noticed who has annoyed me in respect to his tone. I’ll keep an eye on him 🙂

My battery failed completely in 5 days.
[/quote1228138551]eek! Did they replace it under warranty? Or send it back to the supplier? That’s not a great experience.
jez
MemberUnlucky kevin54. Normally people have found that the battery is mostly charged up and the charge light goes green instantly or very quickly after connecting it up.
Let us know how you get on with support.
jez
MemberCool, no probs.
I can post up the top wig site if you are interested – I laugh now but in another 5 years I meed be thankful for such sites 🙁
jez
MemberThanks chap, I PM’d hef and he apologised.
I essentially said thanks for his contributions but can you watch your tone a bit!
He took it well – phew!
jez
MemberIndeed – I gave it a go myself:using free wifi

So the Samsung stuff should stay?
[/quote1228133995]
I have kept it – I think most of the Samsung supplied software is useful. Only do a clean install if you are confident in reinstalling all the drivers and getting it back to where you started (minus unwanted stuff!)jez

Whats wrong with the bundled Mcafee ? Why do you wanna remove it ?
[/quote1228128688]I think the best thing to do would be to check out some professional reviews, I always look to PC Pro for software round ups. They do detailed lab tests and can objectively rate AV software on this basis.
Each package has pros and cons. And people will chose the software they prefer. I will probably not continue my McAfee license on the basis of cost.

I think I’m going to follow the “don’t sweat it” advice and delete the Battery Bar, or maybe keep it, and sneak up on it now and again!
[/quote1228128278]Yeah I’ve decided not to worry. If this machine is a big success (and it seems already so) then spare batteries will be around at a good price! If you spend all your time worrying about using it then using it becomes less fun 🙁
jez
MemberInteresting to hear someone go for a smaller screen – did you prefer the greater portability that a smaller model can offer?
jez
MemberI’m locking before this degenerates into a is it isnt it debate.
Feel free to start a new thread on feature discussion of Win 7 or genuine beta/CTP releases.
Thanks for your understanding,
Cheers.jez
Memberdrifiting offtopic but I had a great time going round Reims a few years back popping into the smaller producers and sampling their wares. We picked up a couple of cases of great stuff for about £7 a bottle. It helps that my Mrs speaks French.
