Aaaargh!Booted-up this evening and the recovery partition is showing again!
Computer Management shows it without a drive letter, but it is available under My Computer as G:..
Help?![/quote1267215017]You could either run the ‘remove letter=G’ diskpart sequence or
Install Easus Partition Master Home Edition (free)
Select the Recovery partition
>Right Click
>Advanced
>Change Drive Letter
>New Drive Letter: None
>Press OK
>Exit AppHope this helps

[/quote1267222092]Most odd. Did you run the full diskpart sequence?- diskpart
*select disk 0
*list partition
*select partition 1 (number of the Recovery partition identified by list partition)
*remove letter=G (where G is the drive letter assigned to the Recovery partition)
*detail partition (Will show partition type as 07 ie. unhidden)
*set id=27 override (to hide the partition)
*detail partition (should show partition type as 27)
*exitI assume Easus worked for you?

MemberYes, I ram the full sequence – the Detail Partition command showed an id of 27…
Anyhow, Easus worked (and is better software than my purchased Norton Partition Magic).
I shrunk my Recovery (G:) from 15GB to 11GB (leaving 1GB unused), moved the System partition, C: and D: drives ‘along’, then added the extra 4GB space ‘at the end’ to my D: (data) drive. The recovery partition (G:) is now safely hidden away.
For those interested, I have 160GB of data all-told on my 250GB drive and Easus took about 90-120 mins to complete the partition resizing/moving.

MemberCan some one make a sticky with this info on win7 starter in it?
Quote:You can change the wallpaper with “Oceanis Change Background W7” and for the sound schemes, you can also change that in windows 7 starter..
Simply enter “change sounds†in your start menu search, and then select “Change system soundsâ€

MemberWhat if I just want to replace current one with, applications and perhaps an upgraded version of W7? Is it necessary to back it up? Also, upon clean custom installation of W7, would the recovery partition be still there?

ParticipantThanks,
I’m looking info on to upgrade W7 Recovery to W10 and this would be good to test.
