MemberGlad to be of help ! Previously I had a 7″ netbook and fullerscreen was a necessity, not an option 🙂

MemberI mentioned in another thread that for firefox there is an extension called “fullerscreen” to customize the F11 behaviour, it does what you want and more.

MemberIt’s somewhat similar to USB – a BT “device” (mouse, GPS, headset etc.) can only connect to one “host” (PC) at a time.
But the host itself can manage several devices at a time.
Like Alfihar I routinely use a keyboard, a mouse, a 3G phone and sometimes a GPS simultaneously.fpp
MemberTen years ago or so my Quake nick was Blue.Tango.
I could make it Blue.Sammy as mine is blue too 🙂

MemberQuickly put and to sum up, Bluetooth lets you do most things you would usually do with USB, but :
– without having to fuss with wires and dongles
– without having to juggle with USB ports or use a hub if there aren’t enough
– with less impact on the laptop battery (because BT peripherals have their own power)Common uses are :
– external keyboards (mostly useless on the sammy but a real lifesaver on some less gifted units)
– mice (regular or mini)
– tethering to 3G phones with data plans for Internet connections on the go
– data exchange with said phones (photos & videos, contacts, calendar etc.)
– GPS antennas for navigation, tracking etc.
– remote control of PC (for Powerpoint presentations, media center etc.)
– headsets or earphones
– printing
– probably more I didn’t think of.Most of these can be used simultaneously with the PC as the host, while also using Wifi and the USB ports for other things.
What you *can’t* really use BT for (yet) is peripherals that require a steady data bandwidth above the specs : you’ll still need USB for external disk drives and CD/DVD players or burners or example.
It can be a real hassle to set up, chiefly because most drivers and software are crappy. But once it works it’s a truly useful, convenient and versatile technology. Connecting my BT stuff to the NC10 with the environment provided by Samsung was fairly painless compared to my previous experience…

MemberOh, so I’m not the only one scratching my head at messages like : “There are 67 new posts since your last visit. (You have read 8 of these posts.)” ? What a relief ! 🙂

MemberIn my experience Bluetooth power draw is really minimal compared to other connection methods. With my previous netbook (a 7″ Kohjinsha SA1), using BT simultaneously for an external keyboard, a mouse, and connecting to the Internet through a 3G phone had virtually no impact on battery life, even for extended sessions – watching a Flash video for a few minutes is probably an order of magnitude above that 🙂
Not to mention the practical aspects of not having to connect any wire or dongle, of course.

MemberIn Firefox there is an extension called “FullerScreen” which also uses the F11 key to give a “smarter” full screen with more options.
For example when your mouse pointer touches the top or bottom of the screen, the tab bar at the top and the status tab at the bottom are made visible (so you can switch tabs, view your Gmail notifier or anything else on the status bar), then disappear again when the mouse leaves the area.
It was indispensable on my 7″ netbook and still useful on the sammy.

I just ran it last night. I noticed the HDD password – interesting. Also, in boot order, there is now a listing for AHCI HDD4. At least I’m pretty sure it’s new – didn’t notice it before…

O3CA already had both of those.fpp

Noticed the same thing about powerdrain after updating. 9:05 is quite good 🙂

Maybe a fix for the USB controller drain you mention in your tweaking guide ?… -
