The AppUp store is coming to Europe next week …
[link]http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/03/25/intel_appup_center[/url]Since my original post, I have come across Intel’s official announcement about the AppUp Center. This mentions that “partners” including Samsung (and Dell and Acer) are working with Intel to set up their own app stores.
If this takes off like the Apple app store (as, no doubt, Intel hopes it will), it could be lucrative for developers – especially those that get in early.There is a (free?) downloadable development kit here. Having heard the stories about what some iPhone app developers have earned, it may be worth having a go.
Dixons Tax-Free has its own Web site. You can phone any branch and check on prices and stock, and ask them to reserve something for you. You can also buy an item on your way out of the country and pick it up when you return (useful for big items). Alternatively, they will deliver it for a charge.
