MemberThe AppUp store is coming to Europe next week …

MemberSince my original post, I have come across Intel’s official announcement about the AppUp Center. This mentions that “partners” including Samsung (and Dell and Acer) are working with Intel to set up their own app stores.
If this takes off like the Apple app store (as, no doubt, Intel hopes it will), it could be lucrative for developers – especially those that get in early. There is a (free?) downloadable development kit here. Having heard the stories about what some iPhone app developers have earned, it may be worth having a go.

MemberDixons Tax-Free has its own Web site. You can phone any branch and check on prices and stock, and ask them to reserve something for you. You can also buy an item on your way out of the country and pick it up when you return (useful for big items). Alternatively, they will deliver it for a charge.

MemberI’ve just remembered that there is a downloadable Microsoft PowerToy that helps you fine-tune ClearType to optimise it for your needs. You can find it (along with other PowerToys such as Tweak UI and a Taskbar Magnifier) at

MemberI’m afraid I’m still running XP (where the graphic equaliser appears under the Sound Effect tab on the Realtek control panel). Perhaps someone else who has installled Vista will be able to answer your question.

MemberYou can get an extra 3% off the Dixons price if you go via the http://www.topcashback.co.uk web site. Unlike most other cashback sites, they don’t charge and annual fee.
BTW, I ordered my NC10 from Dixons on Monday this week and it arrived on Thursday, so delivery times obviously vary.
