They can’t be blamed for getting on the netbook bandwagon since it’s the most perfect netbook out there. It’s just amazing it has 2-3 things that are OBVIOUS to any consumer but not to the samsung team – like the trackpad shouldnt be flush with the rest area, the white color is dull, the screen could have slimmer borders, the speakers could have better software setting etc …

Don’t get me wrong, I love my NC10 and I wouldn’t trade it for any other netbook on the market, including the Sony VAIO P; I don’t care what Sony say, it’s a netbook. My point is simply that Samsung seem to have lucked into their success with the NC10, which can be evidenced by the supply issues throughout Christmas and the quick launch of a special edition NC10, new NC10 colours and the NC20. They tested the waters with the NC10 and it proved successful. I can only commend them from taking advantage of that success and releasing more and more iterations.

MemberI find that Samsung’s NC10 was a “me too” effort, as everybody else was releasing a netbook and Samsung didn’t want to be left out.
With that in mind, don’t be surprised if Samsung start marketing their new netbooks with “World’s first…†as they do that ALL the time with their products e.g. mobile phones, TVs, printers etc.

Good idea Captain 😉February 13, 2009 at 10:42 am in reply to: [poll] possible solution of the low sound volume problem in Windows #182939Rsaeire
MemberI find it amazing that sound would be of such low importance to Samsung with the NC10. It’s not as if it was marketed or released as a business level device, as if it was, it would have came with Vista Business and would have had a more industrial look and feel.

MemberWe’re going into laptop pricing now with these devices. 12″ to me loses the additional portability a netbook generally offers, especially considering they were initially available at 7″ and 8.9″.

MemberMy NC10’s battery wear is also at 5.8% and has been at that level for the past month or so.

wouldn’t it be cheaper sand easier to sell the nc10 and import an Asian spec nc10 with it already built in?

Or possibly wait for the O2 deal, as mentioned on the front page of this site.Rsaeire
MemberThe picture looks very nice indeed. It would be interesting to see his progress over the 5 years it took him to perfect his art.

So I just got my new White NC10. I know that I have posted a little before, but now that I am typing on it, I feel more at home! The keyboard is taking a little getting used to, I keep hitting the = instead of Backspace, oh well, I’ll learn.
Just want to say thank you to all of you for the help and posts you have provided.
Thank you!

It does take a bit of time to learn the layout, I had issues with the smaller right shift key, but after a while you get to know your way around the keys.Rsaeire

Seems bizarre, doesn’t it?I might go as far to suggest that this new one was as requested by O2, to do with the deal listed on the home page of sammynetbook?
[/quote1234458895]
I wouldn’t be surprised, especially considering the fact that a Polish mobile network has/had a deal with Samsung for the NC10 with an internal 3G modem. It makes perfect sense for a UK mobile network to ink a similar deal with Samsung, as it not only aids faster adoption of mobile broadband, but it also ensures that the netbook market increases faster than before.

MemberIf it is, then that will make the Samsung netbook line about 4 items in total; 3 NC10s and 1 NC20.

I’ll also be interested in seeing how you get on. I feel a mini-review with pictures is coming; no pressure. 😉Rsaeire
MemberI never got that key colour change either. I wonder if we get an answer from Samsung someday?

MemberThere will always be better solutions on the horizon, but as this is the computer industry, the NC10 was already old news as soon as it was launched. I for one am happy with my NC10 and its excellent HD playback; low and high bitrate 720p H.264 mkv files and low bitrate 1080p H.264 mkv files playback with ease, so long as MPC and CoreAVC are used.

MemberI’ve taken off the cover on the outside and the screen of my NC10. The only thing that gets on the outside is fingerprints and the only thing that gets on the screen is dust. Both are easily wiped away with a lint free cloth.
