Memberhttp://www.notebook.de say they have NC20 in stock, 2 slightly different models (I wouldn’t pay 50e extra for 1gb memory upgrade). Get your own and share the experience here ๐

MemberAnd anyone who does get one is welcome to write something up for the front page of the site (as I won’t be getting one!).
I think the UK has a bit longer to wait ๐

MemberWe’re going into laptop pricing now with these devices. 12″ to me loses the additional portability a netbook generally offers, especially considering they were initially available at 7″ and 8.9″.

[/quote1234528123]Yeah .. I agree … for me the whole point of a netbook was its size and I think 10.2″ is about as big as a netbook should be. My NC10 is perfect for quick browsing, carrying around with me and taking to mates houses.
12.1″ laptops have been around for a while and generally have much better specs than the NC20. Im not saying its not a great machine but for me I would rather buy a fully fledged intel laptop with a 15.4″ screen which if you shop around will cost the same if not cheaper than the NC20.
Just my view.

It’s always a love/hate thing with glossy screens.February 14, 2009 at 1:37 pm #183558nnardo
MemberI could use the flawless 720p playback, not to mention 1080p…

MemberGlossy screen and price kills it for me. For the same price you can get a much better spec laptop. And I totally agree with what’s been said, 12″ is no longer netbook size.
You have to ask what market is this aimed at?February 15, 2009 at 6:55 am #183559nnardo
MemberUh, what’s the dealbreaker with the price, really? Basic NC10 is approx. 400e. Finland just got its share of NC10s retailing at 499e, 599e for the model with integrated 3G.

Memberyou may get much better specs laptop for the same price but it won’t have the same long battery life or it will weigh 2-3 times more which kills the portability
portability is where netbooks win

[/quote1234711962]I just saw the differences from that German site linked to on the home page here. I’m glad I didn’t wait for an NC20. I much prefer the NC10’s size, screen and price.

[/quote1234775322]Yeah I agree, it is easy to forget this. I was reminded at the weekend when my brother had his cheap budget laptop with him. It was a massive briefcase and weighed a tonne! It makes sense for him as it is his only PC but there is no way I would commute to and from work with that everyday!
I think there is every justification in spending more on a slim lightweight machine if ultra portability is important to you. People will value different qualities in a different way so there is no right or wrong answer in all this.
