Has anyone bothered getting a screen cover? I left on the bit of platic which was on the screen when it came. Its still on but I was wondering if its worth getting a proper screen cover if this one comes off.
January 30, 2009 at 10:22 pm #181924TCMuffinMemberIn my opinion, no, it’s not a touch screen 😉
However, I do regret not putting a screen protector on my partner’s Nintendo DS which has suffered repetitive scratch injury (RSI) in the middle of the lower screen !lol
January 30, 2009 at 10:40 pm #181928avserviceMemberI agree for sure.
I have TouchScreens with covers(protectors) and they can be very annoying for me.
I agree the screen may be vulnerable but one of the best features of these NC10 to me is the matte screen finish.
I have never seen a Matte screen protector so anything on top will just make the screen less nice.Ed

[quote1233340988=Rsaeire]
If anything is going to kill us, it’s the fact that a lot of people don’t close the lid of their toilet when they flush, resulting in the spray of everything that was in the toilet, prior to flushing, being dispersed all over their bathroom in a fine mist. If you think that sounds bad, just imagine what a public toilet would be like under the microscope!
[/quote1233340988]Perhaps I should protect the screen of my Sammy by closing its lid before I flush the lavatory !lol
Sorry…..I’m getting silly now…..it’s been a long and tiring week %-6
February 6, 2009 at 4:59 pm #181930HammerheadMemberHmm, strange post from Rsaeire there! But all the same a worthwhile point that i thing is (vaguely) applicable to our Sammys! As long as you keep the lid down when your not using it, i’d struggle to see how it will get scratched or damaged!

February 7, 2009 at 5:32 am #181926berflesMemberBought one, put it on, took it off, put supplied cover back on.
The one I bought fit a little too well and would never have come off had I finished applying it. Plus it’s impossible to not get a hunk of crap under it which leaves a bubble around the debris.
The one it comes with is good because it doesn’t even touch the screen so I leave that on now. Easy to remove if I have to, and easy to dust the actual screen without even removing the cover.
February 12, 2009 at 1:38 pm #181931ice9MemberHi,
I’m so glad other users have admitted to leaving the clear plastic sheet covering the screen on. I thought I was being a**lly retentive keeping it on ;-). I can top you though, I’ve also kept the clear sheet on that covers the lid and Samsung logo!
I’ll probably take them off or the’yll come off on their own eventually, I just like to keep my new things looking like new for as long as possible.
CiaoFebruary 12, 2009 at 3:57 pm #181923kirkukMemberYep .. left my clear plastic cover on my screen too … im tempted to take it off as im sure the screen will look better but it will be easier to keep clean in the long run !

February 12, 2009 at 4:08 pm #181922RsaeireMemberI’ve taken off the cover on the outside and the screen of my NC10. The only thing that gets on the outside is fingerprints and the only thing that gets on the screen is dust. Both are easily wiped away with a lint free cloth.
February 12, 2009 at 8:13 pm #181927berflesMemberAnd both will leave very fine scratches. Glossy case especially, screen not so much.
I also left the cover on the case. I have a RocketBlower for my DSLR that I use to blow dust off, I don’t wipe it off.
I admit I am too protective of my electronics but it’s just the way I am.
