Correct, if you view the laptop screen from an angle at either side its just black.

This might help till you figure out if its a fault, just go to your apearance tab in your OS and set the colour of the Active title bar to black, that way you shouldnt see any gap! is that whay you mean ?
Maybe im missing something but why arent people buying blootooth mice as surely its better not having to have a dongle taking up a USB port! ? I got a blototh one from ebay for a tenner and its great without a dongle!
I wouldnt assume too quickly till someones taken the back off one, the power supply and most of the other external connections are in totally different places on the exterior of the new one so who knows!!
Just re map it to a key you dont use then, ive just had a look and can count at least 6 keys ive never used and dont een know what they are for!!
You have a third option!!
Just re map the key to a key that you seldom use(i used the one below the esc key) and then re map the key to make it right shift!! that way you have in effect 2 right shift keys next to each other and it doesnt matter which one you hit!! i did this from day one on my NC10 and its great!!

Just re map the key to make it another shift key!! so in effect you have 2 right shift keys next to each other, doesnt mtter which one you hit then, i did this on day of getting my sammy and its great!!

Honestly, sounds to me like you dont NEED one but WANT one, also sounds like due to work and money etc you cant really afford one!
Seriously, think about it in details as to whether you really NEED one now or whether you can get by without one, maybe have another look in 10 months time before you go travelling!!

huh?? where does it says it takes that long or that someone is spending that amount of time tweaking it ?
Took me 3 minutes (thats two of your waits for your sammy to come on!) to go through the tweaks and get a 45 second boot!!
