ezman MemberI went to my local caffe nero to try this whole ‘netbook in a coffee shop’ experience. I used my xda orbit 2 hdspa connection for internet access and it was great.
I couldn’t imagine feeling the same relaxed experience when holding an iphone in one hand and a coffee in another.
And…I’d never take a full size laptop out at a coffee shop but this was just perfect.ezman Member[quote1228068732=Richard T]

Having read through parts of the warranty terms it does state that the battery (as a consumable) is warranted for 12 months.I did notice in the Bios options that it has the ability with “Smart” batteries to give the battery a complete discharge, which I think can be benefiicial for some types of batteries. I currently giving this battery measuring stuff a miss as I might find it depressing!

I though that but after readong on another site that someone battery wear was 30% after 3 weeks or something he was given a replacement…[/quote1228068732] Doesn’t mean much in itself, it may have been a customer service advisor who wasn’t partiularly technical took the customers word for it. ezman Memberlooked at one site where the author of battery bar says you should charge your battery when it hits 40% – i think we might need a whole new topic on maintaining batteries, i’ll look up some info later… ezman Member[quote1228050836=PsychNC10]
I havent read this yet but I wondered if he was referring to the older 7″ versions vs the 10″ ones.
[/quote1228050836]Yeah he does seem to be doing this, but the article was only published yesterday! ezman MemberHe doesn;t seem to class a 10″ netbook as a netbook but as a laptop…”Netbook screens are starting to inch up to 10 and 11 inches. Which doesn’t really make them much different from normal laptops (and the prices are about the same)” ezman Memberjust typical apple fanboy nonsense, it’s like reading an article by a creationist giving 3 reasons why the world was definitely created in 7 days… November 29, 2008 at 11:09 pm in reply to: Can't wait for Stock? Prepared to Pay £323.32 for NC10 Black? Lambda-tek #172147ezman Member[quote1228000076=mother]
Yeah, below £270 in some places…http://www.morecomputers.com/extra.asp?pn=EEEPC1000H-BK007X&referer=Froogle With the 2.5% of VAT on Monday you may even be able to pick one up or less that £260 at some point in the very near future. A bit of a bargain for that piece of kit but it is about to be superceeded by the 1002HA.
[/quote1228000076]yeah…but morecomputers haven;t got any in stock – yeah your impulsiveness cost £30…so what? I fit really bothers you pretend that you paid £30 to learn how to never be impulsive again. Bargain! November 29, 2008 at 4:44 pm in reply to: Anyone else finding the trackpad not being centre a PITA? #172185ezman Memberi never noticed it either – tbh i thought the trackpad was going to be a nightmare for me, but it just isn’t in the slightest. Obviously different experiences for different people but maybe it’s just a case of getting used to it. ezman MemberFor me – the most important thing of all is to set the pointer speed to fast, there’s lots of options in the mouse settings but the one I’m talking about is here
control panel > mouse >pointer options > motion = fast
Once I did this, no more problems because the touchpad easily gets you from one side of the screen to the other.ezman Memberhmmmm, just checked mine, it doesn’t do that, any chance of uploading a pic of where the damage is occurring? ezman Memberwell iplayer is fine, even in high quality mode is brilliant (with a decent broadband connection of course!) ezman MemberYeah I think I’ll get a padded slipcase or something. I love the idea of being able to ‘sling’ the nc10 into my bag and go out….that’s probably best done with a slipcase! And with that in mind, don;t need to be too concerned with paddin g provided by manbag. Hmmm…. ezman Member[quote1227823679=larrybda]
Is the black lid glossy and does it attract fingerprints?
[/quote1227823679]Yeah my nc10 is black and the lid is caked in fingerprints, but now I’m beginning to think – who gives! I’m never looking at the back of the LCD and I can’t be arsed cleaning it all the time. Infact I love offending people with my fingerprint ridden nc10 – the more the better, hah! MyNC10 is unique 🙂 ezman Memberwell actually, iall i did was close the lid in the morning, how do you actually put it into hibernation mode or is that it? ezman MemberI charged mine overnight, unplugged it in the morning and went to work – by 6pm it was down to 93% which I think is fair enough.
