I don’t know if i did the right thing, if there is such a thing, but i carried on using the C drive for all my stuff and backed up to the D drive – was this stupid or really stupid ?
[/quote1234380451]
That’s a perfectly valid way of doing things, Chuf ๐ At least you have a backup. At some point you may want to back up your stuff on something other than your NC10 – in case you have a catastrophic problem, e.g. a hard disk failure. When you’re ready to do this we’re around to help.

Sorry Chuf….didn’t think of that ๐[quote1234380004=chuf]
I’ll have a nose online now… and then grab my credit card and run.

Not sure if it’s available online ๐TCMuffin

In 11months or so me and the mrs are thinking of going travelling too and that was another big reason for looking at netbooks, compatability with being on the move is very important. The upgrades, mods and safety of knowing about this site make me sure that i will purchase an NC 10 but the issue is, when?
[/quote1234378017]
Welcome to the forum EmbarkIf money is tight – buy it when you need it!
Apart from anything else, the netbook market is changing so quickly that who knows what will be available at the end of the year ๐
My friend bought an Acer Aspire One from Tesco just after Christmas and today the price of the same netbook was reduced by รยฃ50.

Even ‘unlimited’ land-based broadband accounts have ‘fair use’ policies which don’t actually stipulate what is the limit on the account ~:(
Whatever happened to transparency in contracts?

That’s a good buy!

It’s such a good buy, I’m almost tempted to go and buy one, although I don’t need it ๐

MemberThank you for that siupiu ๐
I’ll check my T&Cs. However, it’s most unlikely I will exceed these limits as I only use mobile broadband occasionally – most of my connections are via WiFi.
Don’t those limits also apply to mobile broadband accounts?

Is it Vista Home Premium?
[/quote1234362739]
I seem to remember it being Home Premium, but don’t quote me ๐[quote1234362739=adatay92]
Graphics card looks a bit weak but gaming wasn’t really a requirement.
[/quote1234362739]
I thought so too, but Chuf didn’t mention a gaming requirement.[quote1234362739=adatay92]
Only thing to check in a bit more detail is the aftersales / support.
[/quote1234362739]
The Medion website says that its Service Team is available 362 days a year, but I have no personal experience of the quality of Medion’s support – it would be interesting to know if anyone else has experience of buying a PC from Tesco.I bought a cheap and cheerful PC from Tesco many years ago and it was OK – it did what it said on the tin. When I upgraded, I sold it on to one of my clients who wanted a cheap as chips PC for one of his children, so altogether it was used for at least 6 years ๐

MemberHello Chuf
Don’t know if you’re still in the market for a new desktop, but I spotted this in Tesco today:
At รยฃ1 under รยฃ400 for a Quad core processor, 3 GB RAM (which is cheap and easy to upgrade when you need more), 1 TB hard drive, and a Blu-Ray drive this seems a good VFM buy.
A monitor is not included, but I seem to remember you saying your budget was รยฃ500 base only?
