Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix 1/2/3/4
Gran Turismo 1/2 (via ePSXe)

Reports are the 9400 GPU will add about $50 or so to the cost of the typical price of a Netbook. I’d be happy to pay even more!

I think you might get your wish!
I think the current generation of netbooks has reached its pinnacle with the NC10. In price vs performance terms the NC10 is just right. I certainly wouldn’t pay much more even if it did have better graphics. I think the addition of these Nvidia chips is going to push the netbook prices up to near laptop prices and personally I couldn’t justify turning down a far more powerful/more features laptop just to save space.

The GMA 950 shares the same architectural weakness as the GMA 900: no hardware geometry processing. Neither basic (DX7) hardware transform and lighting, nor more advanced vertex shaders (DX8 and later) are handled in the GMA hardware.
So it emulates TnL in software which is really slow. So it’s trial and error really to see which games will run.

MemberI don’t recommend any cases in this style:
You’ll find them on Ebay, I ordered one and the material is too thin and offers little protection and the ones that are listed as fitting the NC10 don’t actually fit very well (too big)

Eddy Murphy, OK I can take that but having Robin? Holy bat cave, no. The new movies are starting to work, dark and moody. What next, add a few POWS and BAMS via CGI.

Yeh I know i’m horrified! They might as well get George Clooney back and put nipples back on the suits. I hope its just a sick rumour lol

MemberIsn’t the Atom cpu still going to be underpowered for recent games? I’m sure most recent games have a minimum requirement of a 3.2ghz P4. I know the Atom is optimised and all but it can’t make up that much of a difference. I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed with these so called ‘gaming’ netbooks like the N10J thinking they will be able to play Crysis at reasonable frame rates etc.

MemberI used to own a 701 and I bought it as a portable multimedia device (retro gaming, movies, internet etc) but realised that the battery was rubbish, the CPU was too weak and the HDD space was not enough.
So I waited for the NC10 and now I am happy at last. I take it everywhere, to work, round friends houses (to show off lol) and on holidays. It’s the perfect size to fit in a bag and not be a burden weight wise. I am soon to get a Win TV usb for xmas (if i’ve been good) so it’s going to be a TV recorder as well.
It’s also made me more sociable as I can sit in the lounge now instead of cooped up in the PC room.

MemberLego Star wars is barely playable so I doubt Lego Batman will be any better. Talking about Batman I have seen that Eddie Murphy is rumoured to be playing the riddler and that annoying kid from Indy 4 is Robin! No way!

MemberIf they’re streaming video’s that will make them dependent on your internet connection and the server(s) of the site. Maybe find another site with similar quality video and see if you get the same result?
s162000
MemberYou shouldn’t have any problems playing ‘basic’ videos up to 720p on the NC10. What format are these videos?
s162000
MemberJust change it back to low when you want to do music/videos!
