MemberI got my new NC10 and was stoked to test it out…
but when I tried playing some videos from hulu.com, the video playback was noticeably choppy. These were regular videos, not even the HD versions. Noticeable when regular screened and more-so wen full screened. HD… gave up a few minutes in.
Is there anything I can do to get better video performance? I don’t expect or need a lot… but I would just like to play some basic videos. 🙁
Thank you.

MemberYou shouldn’t have any problems playing ‘basic’ videos up to 720p on the NC10. What format are these videos?

Memberfrom hulu.com, they’re standard 360p… and I tried the 480 too.
I know they “should” play fullscreen fine without being jerky… but it doesn’t. I made sure that everything was buffered properly, so that has no effect on playback.
bone stock, just got it yesterday and haven’t changed any settings. kinda disappointing. :*(

MemberIf they’re streaming video’s that will make them dependent on your internet connection and the server(s) of the site. Maybe find another site with similar quality video and see if you get the same result?

MemberI’ve seen hulu.com referenced by a few posters here… so was hoping that someone could provide feedback on that particular setup.
My connection is fast enough – I can stream it on my dell xps laptop no problem at highest settings.

MemberMy only experience with choppy video is with ANY video on a Mac site. EVERY single demo they offer in video freezes and LOCKS on my NC10. And I have tried viewing them in the following browsers:
-IE
-Mozilla
-Chrome
-Sea Monkey
-SafariYep, I have a thing for browsers……Wish one played friggin Mac videos! Really makes you lose the want to buy a Mac spirit when you can’t even view their video. But guess what. Went to a Mac store yesterday and the same video won’t even play better on ther $2000.00 Macs! Go figure.

Odd, I assume you’re talking about the trailers on Apples site. The streamed versions play fine on my NC10 (Firefox), though the HD ones (including 480p) which open up outside of the browser in Quicktime don’t. Additionally they all play perfectly on my Mac.EDIT: Had it set to silent mode, once in normal 480P works fine as well once it’s fully loaded.

MemberWell, um. If you’re using a Flash/ShockWave player. Than its normal.

Memberappreciate all the responses… but I still have no idea what the answer is?
Blackwhizz, are you saying that crappy playback is normal for flash/shockwave players?
Anyone with hulu-specific experience?
Any settings that might help?
Thank you.

Yup, in my experience it is. Because flash doesnt support GPU rendering. It renders on the CPU. But the CPU crap so… -
