Snook. Did you send it back? If yes, did Samsung give you a newone?
[/quote1229706576]No, I didn’t send it back. Newegg makes you pay the return shipping, then they ‘verify’ you actually have a problem and if they feel you don’t, you pay them to have your device returned to you.
As for the screen blotches, I’m waiting to see how it goes for the few members here who have sent theirs in for repair… then I’ll consider sending it in to Samsung for that.

Snook, please share what kind of “fiddling” you made to improve your wireless. Thanks in advance.
[/quote1229643399]I can’t say for sure what fixed it, but… I restored the NC10 to its original state, I uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, accessed my router and checked some of my settings, undid those settings, then redid them (opening/closing ports), refreshed my IP, reset my cable box (in the past I’ve had trouble getting computers to access the internet without resetting the box), I even hit my router (lol).
My internet also went down at some point that night, so clearly my provider was doing some sort of maintenance.
I’m not sure if any of that actually fixed it, someone else reported on another thread that their wireless just eventually started to work without doing anything to it.
But I’m happy to report no problems so far. And as long as I (try to) ignore those two glaring black blotches, it’s all around pretty good.

MemberWell, after a lot of fiddling I seem to have the wireless running without a glitch. Though now that I’ve said that, I’ve probably jinxed myself…
Thanks for the suggestions… I’ll go ahead and give Office 2007 a go.
Also, to add to my original post… The NC10 is very sturdy, no creaks or bending, no matter where I lift it. The screen hinge could be a tad tighter, but its not bad.
In all, I’d recommend it, however probably not to someone who isn’t at least a little computer savvy.

I have a blue unit made on 11/11/08 (at least that is the date on the box flap) and it has no blotches. Purchased from Buy.com[/quote1229626646]
Mine has the same date, blue one, bought from Newegg (I’m in the US), and it does have the blotches.

MemberI’ve tried all of the suggestions in this thread, but my wireless is still unusable, it won’t load pages. I’m currently connect via a ethernet cord and it works wonderfully. However… that sort of defeats the purpose of being mobile.
Any other suggestions for the wireless?

Weird… when I restart it wireless works great for awhile, then stops again.

MemberTook a bit of elbow grease but I managed to buff them out. You can still faintly see them if you tilt the screen the right way, but it’s completely livable.
Those two horrid black blotches on the other hand… 🙁

MemberThanks for welcome 🙂
Got it and started it up… I saw the two black blotches right away unfortunately. So at some point I’ll have to send it to Samsung… going to wait and see how a few others repairs go first.
