Snook
MemberMy NC10 only just arrived, so I haven’t had the opportunity to turn it on yet as it is cold as an ice cube, so I’m letting it warm up.
I did however take it out and have a look over it and I noticed what appears to be two rather large scratches going across the screen, length-wise. I thought it was just on the clear protector over the screen, but when I peeled it off I discovered it was the actual screen itself.
Did anyone elses come this way? Perhaps it just needs a good cleaning?
Any recommendations for what I could use to try cleaning the screen?

MemberWhen you run your fingers over it, do you feel the ridges, or anything out of the unusual? You can also try using the electronics cleaning solution that you can pickup at most stores.

MemberMine certainly didn’t arrive like that.
It they are just scuffs/marks you might be able to clean them using a soft cloth.
If they are actual scratches I suggest you need to send it back and get a replacement.

MemberTook a bit of elbow grease but I managed to buff them out. You can still faintly see them if you tilt the screen the right way, but it’s completely livable.
Those two horrid black blotches on the other hand… 🙁

[/quote1229706576]No, I didn’t send it back. Newegg makes you pay the return shipping, then they ‘verify’ you actually have a problem and if they feel you don’t, you pay them to have your device returned to you.
As for the screen blotches, I’m waiting to see how it goes for the few members here who have sent theirs in for repair… then I’ll consider sending it in to Samsung for that.

MemberAny advice on what to clean the screen with? I’ve got some cleaner for my LCD telly, would that be ok?

That should be fine just use it sparingly with a soft dry cloth.February 17, 2009 at 3:59 am #176266Don_Audio
MemberWow i’m surprised you actually kept this unit. Scratches and Blotches on a new item? Unacceptable.
