Opening the back voids the warranty, so the same goes for switching the WIFI card.[/quote1233762058]
Thats what I meant…. if you can get the back open of course… but that’s another story

MemberJust to add if you’re thinking of going for a HDD upgrade be aware that it does void your warranty (upgrading ram does not if you do it through the hatch)

jez are you a samsung employee?? haha i like the nc10 i’m just afraid something much much better will be on the market. i only will use it for email, internet, a little video on hulu.com and storing pictures.

Something better is always around the corner! Choice is yours dude, but think of it this way, by the time the 1000HE comes out there will be something better around the corner again that’s just the way it is. I wanted a netbook now not 6 months down the line!s162000

Cough…coughFebruary 4, 2009 at 9:47 am in reply to: [poll] What would you have bought if it weren't the Sammy? #182431s162000
MemberI was going to get the Aspire One 120GB version but the day I went to collect it in PC World I noticed the NC10 online (a couple of months before it was due to go onsale) so I waited 😉

I prefer to keep hold of mine incase I come across any problems with the replacement RAM. If I still had a warranty I’d also want to keep it incase anything goes wrong.
[/quote1233739409]Good point, plus nobody is going to pay much for used ram.

MemberUpgrading the RAM (via the hatch) will not void your warranty but upgrading the HDD will, infact taking the back off at all voids the warranty. By the way did John Lewis tell you they had extended the warranty to 3 years? The NC10 warranty is 3 years anyway!

MemberGood find! Finally looks like a worthy competitor to the NC10… I always knew Asus could do it ….. LOL
It may be too late though with the Nvidia platform round the corner?

MemberKinda average list from me:
Megadrive
Gameboy (original)
N64
Playstation
Dreamcast
Playstation 2
Xbox 360I still rate the Dreamcast, it should have been Sega’s saviour it had some top notch games but the damage had already been done with the Saturn I guess. I just hope we don’t end up with Microsoft ruling the console world, competition is a good thing!

I put a 200gb 7200rpm drive in there, then when I bought an X25m for my Thinkpad, I put a 60gb SSD in there instead.the 200gb dropped the battery life a little, and ran a little hotter. I’ve not had a chance to give the SSD an endurance run to see what happens; I’m also not entirely sure I don’t wish I had the SSD in my quad core desktop instead of the 250gb.
[/quote1233391711]So how much battery life would you say you lost? I reckon I lost around 5-10%. But it was either that or carry external’s around which would drain the battery even more. Also I just downloaded speedfan to monitor my HDD temps and it’s hitting 38C on full read and write.

? It is on a Sunday evening in the UK – where are you, and which episode are you on?
[/quote1233321218]
In America they are ahead of us in the U.K. episode 3 aired on Wednesday. I can’t post any links or tell you how to as it’s forbidden but there are ways of watching Lost before it gets to the U.K.
