Memberlol yay! Has arrived yet?!
jez
MemberYep – you are quite right!
jez
MemberIs that newer than the last new one lol?
jez
MemberI think I’ll be OK on the recommended spec. But even the recommended is often some way off whats really needed. We’ll see I guess! Look forward to the first reviews.
jez
Memberhehe yeah “do not try this at home” – no chance of that 🙂
Reminds me of the people who build oil cooled PCs. I suppose it’s a challenge ;)!

MemberI agree. When I connected my NC10 up to my TV I could hardly here it on max volume. Once I hunted around for the right lead I was able to get the TV to amplify the signal.
Perhaps we need a thread on “best portable external speakers for an NC10”
jez
Memberwow thanks for the offer. Yep only trip scheduled for now is New Years with the in-laws!! Should have internet access – will at least have my Sammy! I need to get a dongle.
jez
MemberI put Google Chrome on my NC10 on day one and have not looked back. Interestingly it only installed under my profile so the Mrs has been moaning about how slow IE is. But Chrome is lightning fast! One of my (many) articles I want to write is an essential netbook software guide and this will be top of that list. I like it that much.
1. Very easy to use – I love the all purpose address box.
2. Had no problems on any site
3. Not used any. But I never did with IE or firefox so…
4. Runs very well imo.Although the forum here is a bit slow this evening – checked my host status report and the CPU usage for the server is way up. I hope it’s not my fault cos I only just upgraded to a more expensive package lol!
jez
MemberHonestly – I didn’t notice a massive difference in any respect! I’d love to know what other people think too 🙂
I think it will depend a lot on how you use the machine.
jez
MemberI think the software itself is OK – it has legit uses. Assuming it is a legit download site for commercial software! But links to no CD cracks are not on. I’d edit it out and say “please don’t link to cracks that circumnavigates copy protection”. People can google it, although I wouldnt say that as that condones the use. Which leads me onto:
“Google it” replies are not on imo. I’d edit them out with a “please stick to useful advice only, if you don’t wish to answer the question then please refrain from posting, thanks”
sort of edit.I get the point on those remarks but someone always comes along and gives an answer anyway. Someone like me usually lol! So “google it” posts are just a waste of their time and ours.
PS Im working on a FAQ so soon we can just link to that for common questions. And put a big “Read the FAQ” at the top of the forum. But some people still need a little more advice and Im happy to give it 🙂
jez
MemberThat’s interesting. Can anyone else confirm the same thing or explain why that might be seen?
I think the limiting factor of the graphics card is going to be its processing power. So although doubling the RAM will make a difference I can’t believe that it will suddenly open the door to a load of games that previously didn’t run?

PS, TRIED to figure out how to post picture but can’t figure it out…..

MemberFixed link! Soz. It’s all standard stuff. I just wanted to clean out anything in “grey areas” and keep the site squeaky clean :). 99% of people on this forum won’t be affected but I just wanted to stamp out any dodgyness and unhelpfulness early on. It turns out I am potentially liable for anything published here under UK law and I am not taking any chances.
I can see this site becoming more of a beginners and users forum than a techy place. Which opens up the doors for someone else to host a more technical wiki if they are up for it.
jez
MemberJust noticed your avatar – if i’d known that… 😉
There is a link on the main forum page just below the stats in the “information” box:
http://www.sammymobile.com/plugins/forum/forum.php?mark.all.as.readI’ve never used it actually.
jez
MemberWhat does it actually mean though? If you get to 100% it nolonger works? At 50% your battery will only last for 3hrs and not 6hrs?
