Grand Theft Auto IV for the PC

Anyone else looking to buy GTA IV for the PC? It’s now on [red=playgta]preorder at Play.com[/red] for £25 which seems alright.

I bought the first one (ie GTA III) and enjoyed driving around and stuff, and the new one looks amazing.

This goes in off topic because we won’t be running this on an NC10!!

Anyone played it on the consoles – how did it compare? Im hoping the gap between the one I bought and now will be fairly significant so it will be like a whole new game and not just an extension?

I’v played this on PS3 and the map was quiet cool,i think san andreas was the best so far and this didn’t quiet match up to it in my opinion…A good game though all the same

I played it on my friends 360 and I thought it lagged quite a bit PC version should look a lot better. I’ve been looking forward to its release on PC for a while. I have enjoyed every GTA on PC since GTA 1 over 10 years ago. I have seen that the minimum spec is a dual core CPU though. Recommended specs look hefty (to me):

Recommended System Requirements
Windows Vista – Service Pack 1 / XP – Service Pack 3
2.4Ghz Intel Core 2 Quad or 2.1GHz AMD Phenom X3
2.5 GB of RAM (Windows XP) or 2.5 GB of RAM (Windows Vista)
18 GB Free Hard Drive Space
512MB NVIDIA 8600 / 512MB ATI 3870

DRM is ok, unlimited installations with the disc apparantly.

I think I’ll be OK on the recommended spec. But even the recommended is often some way off whats really needed. We’ll see I guess! Look forward to the first reviews.

I had never bought a GTA game but bought IV for the 360. Never got into it.

I am a COD guy, finished 2,3,4 and WAW.

I’ve been put off by the bad reviews. Users are claiming that it is a little buggy and doesn’t run all that well and has inhibitive copy protection.

Shame, I was looking forward to it.

Got GTA IV for my PS3 on release date and i am still playing it to this day. Online is such a laugh.
