MemberAnd just to point out, if your only browsing the web, you probably wont notice any difference.. only when downloading large files.

MemberSOLUTION BELOW:
Found this guide online and i have updated it a little for the nc10 with no working trackpad.
Renaming/Deleting the “idcphid.sys” file under C:windowssystem32drivers will work apparently.STEPS:
1. Open “My Computer” (using the keyboard) and go to the following location C:windowssystem32drivers.2. Find a file named “idcphid.sys” and rename it to “idcphidMODIFIED” – to rename, make sure the file is selected in explorer, then press the Alt key to bring up the file menu, here you can select “Rename” with the keyboard.
3. Now uninstall the “IdeaCom HID Touch Screen (PS/2)” driver under “Human Interface Devices” in “Device Manager” (Device Manager can be found under “Control Panel” > “Administrative Tools” > “Computer Management”)
4. Your computer will require a restart. After the restart completes your problem should be fixed. It is probably best to now hide from windows update.
5. On my system, the synaptics touchpad worked, but had no drivers. Windows should find the drivers automatically and will ask you to reboot your system (this is in vista btw).

MemberHmm well its certainly an interesting update… now I have an on screen keyboard when logging in and the trackpad has been disabled and I cant seem to be able to re-enable it. It has also added all of the windows tablet items to the start menu… hmmm, very annoying update! DO NOT INSTALL!! – unless you have a touchscreen. Im trying to remove the update now, i’ll post a how-to when i’ve accomplished it!

MemberGood shout! Just getting it now. There’s also an update for “IdeaCom Technology – HID Touch Screen”, wonder what thats for as I don’t have a touch screen?

MemberIm running Visual Studio Pro 08 on Vista with 2gb ram as we speak and it runs fine. Bit slower than my pc compiling though… So i’d assume it would run fine on xp and 1gb of ram. The screen is a bit small when it comes to debugging but otherwise its fine. Just make all the little windows around the edges “auto hide”.

24″ LCD for development?[/quote1231787587]
I also use a 24″ for development 😀 Cant beat it!dingdong
MemberNetbeans runs ok, takes a while longer to load up on my nc10 than on my desktop but its to be expected. C++ 6 runs fine. XAMPP (apache, mysql, php etc.) runs fine – seems to be a little slow when just starting it up. Compilation process from both IDE’s takes a bit longer than a dual core desktop but isnt to bad.. as stated above, depends on what your compiling.
TJ_1984, what version of VS are you running? I plan on installing VS 08 soon. I’d expect it to run fine though…

MemberYea its deffo the pinch setting, I had the exact same problem. Disable as lozza said.

MemberThe module “sabi.dll” failed to load.
I’m thus guessing it was never registered in the first place. But the problem seems fixed now anyway thank you.

I’ve just had a look for this and can’t find it anywhere on my system. I have Magic Keyboard running with no problems – are you sure that’s the app which requires it?I did a quick google search which confirms the dll is part of Samsung software, but isn’t specific to Magic Keyboard. It could be another piece of Samsung software which you’ve uninstalled which is causing this problem.
Could you post the full error message you’re getting on startup and let us know what apps you uninstalled if you can remember?

One of the programs I installed and uninstalled was Dreamscapes, cant remember the other. And the program that required it was Keyset.exe which is in the MagicKBD directory, try running it yourself and see if you get the error.

make a copy of the sabl2.dll and rename it sabl.dll (in the same directory/ probs system32)http://spywaredlls.prevx.com/RRDFGD6089584/SABI.DLL.html

Thanks, I found that page after posting and it does seem to stop the error from occuring.. weird how it started happening in the first place. Maybe its a Vista centric problem.[quote1230656419=Blueboy]
I would try unregistering this dll file. Assuming your are running XP:
Open a DOS window by entering cmd in the RUN box
Then enter: regsvr32 /u sabi.dll
[/quote1230656419]Should have mentioned that im running vista 😉 And the problem isn’t that the dll isn’t registered, its that it didn’t exist!
Oh well, thanks guys.
