I bought another one from PC World yesterday and it has Bluetooth – perhaps they forgot to mention it. This version is the standard Sammy N150 and not a DSGi version.
The new one was made in April 2010 and a really quiet Samsung HD. At least it is new stock:) Some smaller branches still have N150s from Dec 2009 – I don’t know how quickly batteries degrade, but it still at least 6 months old.
Battery wise, I reckon I will get about 5 1/2 hours using WIFI. TBH I cannot justify paying and extra £80 for the N220 which is virtually the same – except for the 250gb HD, larger battery and the intsant boot function.
StriderMemberHappy days then, did they give you another 2200mAh 3 cell battery or a 6 cell one??
StriderMemberRather than removing the 6gb partition you could use the SRS admin tool and upload a clean copy of Win 7 to the hidden partition. You would never need Win XP again – worked for me:))
StriderMemberIs the battery life extender available on the NC10??
StriderMember1hr40mins – that has got to be the 2200mAh battery (or whatever it is). Either that or you battery is duff:(
StriderMemberI think it just something you have got to live with I am afraid. The Fujitsu hd in the NC10 used to be very noisy but according to Samsung / Fujitsu it was just a’feature’ of the drive. The Western Digital drive I have in my NC10 is virtually silent.

StriderMemberHi Jeepers
Thanks for the reply. From what I can rememeber, the upgraed SRS3 dows not include the software backup/repair function that is in the full version of SRS4
StriderMemberI have an NC10 with Win7 Pro and my fan runs most of the time, although it is verry quiet and running at a slow speed
StriderMemberI dunno what is supposed to be normal, but I have the orginal 1GB Samsung DDR2 memory and CPUZ says mine runs at 266mhz.
StriderMemberI have Windows 7 and upgraded to Recovery Solution 4, yet when I run the program it says Recovery Solution 3 Upgrade.
Has anyone actually managed to get the full version of SRS 4 running?
February 22, 2010 at 10:23 pm in reply to: N10 – Win7 – Serious Partition Problems – Please help, sniff #210952StriderMemberThanks again for your detailed reply. Oddly before I hid the 100mb partition it showed it as being a system partition and when i used the set id commands it changed it to an OEM recovery partition.
BTW I am using SRSIII upgrade – i loaded srs4 onto my sammy and on parts of the program it states srs4 and on others srslll
The SRSlll admin harddisk view states that the recovery partition is Z, but doesn’t show in Windows. Oddly my volume for the recovery partition is 2 whereas yours is 0, why is that.
Cheers

thanks for the tip. I fully reinstalled windows and did what you suggested and everything seems okay, but when i go to the admin section of the recovery software and select hard drive it now has a question mark next to the 100mb partition. Will it still work okay without a letter assign as z has been assigned to the recovery partition.. ???
To be precise it has:
z: 6GB Recovery Partition
?: 100mb partition
c: 43gb Windows Partition
d: 100gb data partitionCan you check to see if you have one on yours??
Cheers

I tried what you stated but to no avail.
I looked around on various forums and the over-riding consensus was that if you don’t use Bitlocker or are not looking to dual boot then removing the 100mb partition is safe.
So I logged in to the Recovery admin section and made a bootable recovery USB stick, logged on and reset all of the partitions, removing the 100mb one.
I then simply reinstalled Win7 Pro, which did not create a new partition and low and behold it is business as usual.
Now all is fine:)
