MemberThanks but the problem isn’t the tray clock. It works fine.
But like a on the desktop digital clock as my tray is set for auto hide. And like to use a desktop clock app, widget, etc… And easier to read for these old eyes.

MemberYep saw those and thanks for taking the time to respond.
Was kind of shocked that they didn’t have anything like my MS 5000 bluetooth mouse in a trackball type setup.
I can see many situations where sitting in a comfy lazy-boy or sprawled out on a bed or couch,etc.. where having a laptop propped up in weird positions contrary to good position for mouse or keyboard use would make it easier to use an item like this.
Ohhh well guess it not in demand enough? or my situations are not general enough that others also would find this convenient enough to warrant one?

MemberYep a simple “nc10 vs dell mini 10” in google will give you more of a balanced approach in assessing which one is right for you.
My only pet peeve with the NC10 was I should have gone for the NC10 SE version when I had the chance.

MemberYep visual appeal is great. But for me a few no-go as love to use Nero 6.6.016 last nero I will use and is not compatible with 7 but that’s not 7’s fault. As Nero 8 and 9 are bloatware city. Played a bit with some of the free alternatives but just wasn’t the same.
Also found couldn’t use my very useful D-Link airplus g wireless utility. Very useful with real-time bar for strength and gives on the Fly TX connection speed. Which is useful for me it how reliable a connection is. Don’t get the 3bar 5bar good or excellent messages as not very informative if still having problems with connection due to high S/N ratios with is reflected in the Tx rate changing a lot from 11,24,36,54Mbs tells me why the connection is flaky.
And Tmac changer v5 was a no-go tho the author told me he will be having a update soon as it is more of a installer issue than a program issue.
Beyond that all my other programs seemed to run fine. And was impressed with it overall.
Would be all Ubuntu if they could come out with some decent Image and video editing programs on par with Lightroom and higher end Video editing. And decent CD and DVD burning software which is still young missing features and not developed fully yet.
But on the whole I would have to say fairly impressed with the Beta’s compared to Vista and even winXP was more problematic when it was in early release. So I guess they are actually learning from their mistakes.
Also does win7 have the desktop rotating window app stack for selecting open apps? I kinda like that when I saw it in Vista.

MemberDon’t know on those but for my splinter Cell,Max Payne 2,etc.. I always change forward motion to mouse 2. So I can just hold down mouse 2 button and move and such.
Those don’t have mouse options? Keyboard only?

MemberJust found this at mozilla
Spotify Search 0.4.3“When reading about an artist, you can select a song or album, right-click it and perform a search in the Spotify application (http://www.spotify.com).
You can search by artist, album or song. Select any text, search and the result will be displayed in Spotify.
To be able to use this addon, you must make sure your browser can handle Spotify-URI:s (spotify://).”
Hope it is useful to someone?

Not for USA tho yet due to licensing issues. And guess it will be a awhile unless the Big record companies play bad ass or something and keep us from getting it.

Member“I have to go through a process of adding the network every time I turn on the netbook.”
I use the Atheros Client for connecting and create profiles. With my Default being my main connection source.
Same goes if using windows built in. Right click and choose available networks then click on change Advanced Settings. Then on Wireless Networks tab. Remove any listed in Preferred networks window. Then add your own. That gives it only the one to connect to on startup.

MemberYep what I have read they are about equal. And are fine for gaming if you are not expecting to run Half-Life 2,Doom 3,etc…
I run Splinter Cell,Max Payne 2,etc of the older games genre on my NC10 and it does well.
Tho if gaming was a concern than the bigger screen with default res. of 1024×768 would mean less tweaking init files to get game to run in 1024×600 on the NC10.
But if Gaming is a High Priority on your list than Netbooks are not the answer. And none that can do Doom3,Half-Life2,Far Cry?,etc..

MemberYep back at the S101 vs NC20 I also mentioned how suspicious how many S101 gained in 20 hrs in comments then found my comment had disappeared.
Guess it’s not even a fair survey with no verification of numbers or protections so why bother with it? Reminds me of the Voting fiasco here in the US. They know the problem but don’t care to change it.

MemberUpdate Tests
Both plugs AC plugged in Burn at 8x – Failed.
” ……………………………………….. ” 6x – Successful
One plug AC plugged in Burn at 6x – SuccessfulAll play fine in multiple players.
So it seems 8x is a boderline burn depending on media.
Tho I use the highly recommended Verbatim 16x +R as the most reliable for DVD movie burns. 6x seems the limit. So it appears one usb plug and even battery would suffice as long as you keep it at 6x
