My eyes aren’t good enough for a 10″ netbook, so this looks to be the one. I hope they’re shipping soon.
[/quote1233242509]I think that will be the key selling point for the NC20. It looks like a great little machine for people who find the NC10 a little small but still want a great quality ultra portable PC.
If you do get one, be sure to let us know all about it!

Memberlol hehe no my first ever one will be for the 2008-2009 tax year. Partly because of this site but for other reasons too. Fortunately my affairs are pretty simple!

MemberI have a specialised rock hopper. I spent the better part of £1000 on it when I was living with my parents and had lots of cash (full time graduate job and no rent or bills to pay – happy days!)
I have ridden it 4 times. It has sat in my shed for about 8 years now and is very out of shape. Unfortunately it is unridable in current condition. I hope to move a bit further into Surrey in the next couple of years (post house price crash!) and will take it to the professionals to get fixed up.
Disc brakes and shocks are great but I don’t have a clue how to maintain them!

MemberNice spot on the batteries – I’ll investigate that…

MemberI’d like to comment on 3.
I had waited for over a year before buying a netbook. I had looked at many models and all seemed to have some pretty big faults. Until the NC10 came along. It is my belief that it is a mature product and should provide everything you need from a UMPC. But then I would believe that because I went and bought one!
But from the point of view of regretting that decision or wishing for something else – I have no doubts at all that it was a good choice. Each time I hear of new features I just think ‘why would I need that’? Because the NC10 already does what I want and does it well.
I am not sitting here wishing the keyboard was different or it was faster and more responsive. I am not sitting here wishing it had x and y addons. It is just right!
I won’t be upgrading until touchscreen tablets are mature and cheap! I just can’t see why I’d need to right now. Or I might buy a new Sammy model down the line to review on this site if I convince enough people to buy through here ;)!
PS, glad you like the forum, thanks for your kind words.

MemberOf course, this forum is the best 😉
I’m not biased. Honest.

MemberAh! Someone beat me to it! I just posted it up on the front page 🙂
It hadn’t occured to me that it might be a hoax. Oh well, if it is we can blame slashgear ;)!

MemberI’ve never participated in any other specific ones, but for more general UMPC stuff I recommend UMPC Portal and JK
Also many in the community are adding themselves to the toplist site, click through the counter on the bottom right (below the PM section) of any page to “vote” for this site!

MemberI recall mine just did nothing for quite a while and then announced it was done! I was watching TV at the time so not sure how long I waited, but I did initially think it was not working and decided I’d look at the end of my program.
So I wonder if other people might think the same but cancel it before it completes!
jez
MemberThat’s OK, no worries, I think I’d rather people posted old news than nothing at all lol!

MemberThanks Posblue and welcome to the site! I didn’t spot my keys were blue even after someone asked me to check them! It was only when I first took it outside that it really stood out!

MemberI would be inclined to agree. But I’m sure some will value the dongle-less look enough to splash out. My netbook budget was always set at the circa £300 mark so it would have fallen off my radar. But like you said, £350 would have tempted me for sure!

MemberThere are a few listed on the nc10 accessories page.
