MemberYou’re going to get the lag unless you use a program which has low latency sound drivers. You could try the ASIO4ALL drivers – http://www.asio4all.com/ (ASIO4ALL is a hardware independent low latency ASIO driver for WDM audio devices).

MemberI went the bear bones route, I use an internal IDE DVD drive connected by a IDE to USB converter. Cables everywhere. 🙂
