Hi all,Noticed this happening recently. when i go to plug in my NC10 mains charger into the mains i’m getting some nice blue sparks from the 3-pin plug, anyone else have this problem? If not, i stil have a few weeks left on its warranty, so is it worth replacing?
It sparks regardless of whether the mains adpator is connected to the laptop or not.
There are no ill effects on the laptop when used, just the issue of the charger sparking worries me..Hope anyone can shed some light of whether your own NC10 chargers do this.
Regards

My netbook has been installed with Windows 7 RTM Ultimate edition and has been working fine over the last few days, with exception for a few quirks. The problem is that 10% of the time when the laptop goes into hibernate mode, more often after closing the lid for a period of time, on resumption of Windows the ‘Resuming Windows’ loading bar completes but then the computer just hangs on a blank black screen with only the flashing cursor that you see for a split second when booting up windows. Switching off the computer is possible, and booting up again offers the option of trying to resume again or just deleting the saved data. The resume again never works,
Any help would be much appreciated, as of now it looks like a clean install of windows after my exams is the best option.
[/quote1260534002]I read that hibernation is very hard on the hard drive. so i set mine not to hibernate.

MemberI never install any updates for my wi-fi. i don’t use update plus.

Memberi don’t know if it is legal to intstall mac on a pc. did you try the restore through windows when you turn on your machine and hit F4 and then go to the date before you installed the mac. i guess you can’t get into anything on your machine. i would never put mac on it.

Memberas far as i can remember they have no ability to go wireless. they need an internal modem, which the NC10 does not have.

MemberI think what this person plans on doing is very dishonest. to try to trick another customer into a netbook they have messed up.

From what I remember Microsoft doesn’t care in this case as the laptop is sold with a Vista licence and downgraded to XP Pro, versus selling the laptop with a straight XP license. Are these business laptops?
[/quote1239732338]it doesn’t say it in the ad, one of them is lenovo thinkpad t400 cdw t635732
i found that one on amazon

Most (external) optical drives should come with the necessary codecs/DVD decoder.Almost every drive I’ve purchased either retail or OEM, internal or external has come with a disc with the necessary software.
[/quote1239388435]I have a Samsung SE-S084 external DVD writer. It came with “Nero Essentials” software. No matter what I tried, I couldn’t get the Nero software to install on the NC10. I ended up using this codec pack and player: http://tinyurl.com/7waem. I’ve used the same codec pack and player on my desktop for awhile, and they work well!
As always, YMMV.

that’s odd, i have the same one, but i had to do all the updates.

Pretty sure I did lock it, but maybe I never, I will never know.
I am over it now anyway, only had it three weeks so not so long.
I have two other decent desktops and a macbook so not without.
[/quote1238476049]i think some one spotted you driving around with your sammy in the car, they followed you. netbooks are in big demand now, if some one see a chance to lift one they will. the economy the way it is today, it will have more often.
