MemberHi…um….er….tom ๐
Welcome to the forum ๐
I recommend uninstalling your Atheros driver and downloading and installing the latest version of the wireless driver.
Then I suggest you download, install, and run CCleaner to sort out the rest of your Windows installation.
Hope that helps ๐

MemberHi qt11
Sorry to hear you have to return your Sammy. One really good free tool is CCleaner which includes ‘Wipe Free Space’ as part of it’s ‘Cleaner’ operation.
Delete all your personal stuff and uninstall all your programs (again using CCleaner – Tools) and then use ‘Wipe Free Space’.
Hope that helps ๐

Perhaps you have a case for suggesting to Samsung that they have fitted the wrong battery for the quoted model number you have been supplied with?
[/quote1251472175]
Good suggestion, jeepers01. I’d go for it ๐TCMuffin

A damp micro fibre cloth is all I use…
[/quote1251471465]
Me too – just ordinary warm tap water ๐FWIW – I wouldn’t use anything like vinegar

BTW – this has been discussed in the thread How do *you* clean your screen?

You might have better luck posting this in the N110 Forum area instead of the N10.

You need to add some Gucci to your collection of Prada Jayne

Sorry but all my spare cash goes on fast cars, fast computers, and new toys (aka gadgets) – I dress like a tramp, albeit a clean one

I am now able to see the @ symbol when I type it รขโฌโ but only if I press ‘Shift-2’.

As jeepers says, that sounds as if you have UK spec NC10 and your keyboard language is US. To check this:
[list=number]*Select Start > Control Panel > Region and Language.
*Select the ‘Keyboards and Languages’ tab.
*Select the ‘Change keyboards…’ button.
*Ensure the ‘Default input language’ is ‘English (United Kingdom) – United Kingdom’
*Click on the ‘OK’ button to close the ‘Change keyboards…’ window.
*Select the ‘Location’ tab and ensure that the ‘Current location:’ is ‘United Kingdom’.[/list]The above description is for a Windows 7 computer, but the principle will be the same for any Windows OS.Hope that helps
[EDIT] Ooooops – too late – and I was only away from civilisation (i.e. mobile phone signal) for 24 hours at Ivy Cottage at the Walnut Tree in Llanddewi Skirrid.

NP-NC10-KA06/SUK is the only model currently shipping with a 3 cell battery.
[/quote1251466446]
Welcome to the forum, CrazyLegs, and thank you for such a useful first post ๐[quote1251466531=tonytb]
I know the processor is the same, but a GTi is known for speed, and the NC10 is known for battery life. They should call it the NC10 Lite.

if I don’t set the user one I can still boot up without needing to enter a pword every time?
[/quote1251376133]
As long as it’s a warm boot ๐I set all the BIOS passwords, but allow Windows and Linux to start automatically (using control userpasswords2 in Windows). The advantage of this approach is that you start the computer, enter the passwords(s) immediately and then go off and shower, make a cup of tea, or whatever whilst the computer does its start up routine and it’s ready to use when you come back ๐

Thank you, Jez ๐

MemberHi fiddler
I think what you’re looking for is Rob83’s post in the thread [NC10]Screw sizes.
The forum search is quite limited – you may have more success using Jez’s search ๐

Yes it is. I do quite a lot of RAM upgrades and I always use Crucial – excellent customer service, fast delivery, competitive prices, and a system scanner to identify the correct RAM.TCMuffin
MemberQuote:The best solution I’ve found is to keep the D: drive and set it as your My Documents folder.+1 for keeping My Documents on a separate partition. As you say, there are many advantages to this. In addition to the ones you mention – keeping ‘My Documents’ on the D: partition makes backing up easier.
Quote:Right click MyDocuments on the Desktop, select Properties. Set the Target as D:/ and press OKThe easiest way to do this in all versions of Windows is to download and install the free basic (or trial) versions of TweakXP, TweakVi, or Tweak7.
