Rofl @ Jayne’s NC10 at the opera!

Queen of Spades, 15 May 2009, WNO at the Wales Millennium Centre.Great performance, so I was actually pleased I left my Sammy at home. Sorry Sammy 😉
If I had managed to sneak my NC10 past the management (i.e. my better half) do you think it would qualify for Jez’s Extreme Netbooking 😕

Poor sound. You may have ‘karaoke’ turned on in the Samsung EDS Controller. If you search this forum for karaoke you’ll find some threads discussing the topic of low sound levels.
Apart from that +1 to each of Flozem’s answers 🙂

So basically the same old Atom N2xx hardware again with a slightly different chassis, a wireless card capable of 802.11n and maybe slightly better speakers.

Same old – same old 😉TCMuffin
MemberN130 comes with Windows 7, 1 GB RAM, 1.66 GHz Atom N280 CPU.
N140 comes with Windows XP, 1 GB RAM, 1.60 GHz Atom N270 CPU. True surround XT from new speakers – so looks like a NC10 with new speakers, a bigger trackpad, and non-glossy lid.

MemberCool – if we know the printer model we can check which Linux distro(s) will have drivers for it.

MemberHi Jamixtreme.
Welcome to the forum and thank you for your kind comments about the forum 🙂
I guess I would say this, wouldn’t I, but I love my NC10. It goes with me almost everywhere – my partner objected to me trying to slip it in my jacket when were going to the opera – and it’s proving very reliable and has coped with everything I’ve thrown at it

Try creating a USB boot drive using WinSetupFromUSB as explained in the following excellent guide – WinSetupFromUSB.

I thought the N110 screen res was lower than that too. I think Dell minis have that screen res.

Good spot – I missed that. Thank you swampy 🙂TCMuffin
MemberHi amit
See the instructions in my previous post, i.e.
Restart your N120 and as it starts to boot, quickly and repeatedly press the F2 key to enter the BIOS. Set the “Brightness Mode Control” from “Auto” to “User Control”

MemberProbably – as long as it has a USB connection. Which printer will she be using?
