MemberHi tapia99 and welcome to the forum ๐
This sounds as if you didn’t delete the existing partitions during the install process which is why there are still files hanging around from your previous installation. You have reinstalled XP because of a viral infection, so I would say it’s essential that you reformat your drive.
There’s an excellent guide to clean installing Windows XP by the Elder Geek, but to summarise and with grateful acknowledgement of his images:
*When you get to stage where you’re shown the existing partitions, ensure you delete all the existing partitions:
*Next you will be asked to create a new partition. Set this to the maximum size to use the whole disk as the XP partition:
*Lastly you will be asked to choose the file system. Select ‘Format the partition using the NTFS file system:
Once you have reinstalled Window XP on a clean reformatted HDD, you will need to install the wireless adpater’s driver from the other Samsung CD – the Samsung System Software Media disk which will look something like this:
.
Hope that helps ๐

MemberI also use FF on a 50 Mbps line and it’s quick enough. More importantly, it has Adblock Plus and on my Sammy ‘MinuMenu’

MemberDownload, install and run CCleaner, DriverMax, Update Checker, Defraggler, and then ask us again.
Until you clean up and update your system and unless you provide more information, it’s really difficult to help you.
Sorry if that sounds tetchy – it’s been a long day ๐

MemberRight again, jeepers01 ๐
There must have been a problem with the 8.0.0.171 driver as this will not install under XP. So, I’m running 7.7.0.259.
I’ve just logged into my NC10 under Windows 7 and this driver is 8.0.0.171.
