MemberNot necessarily 😉
Having said that – I have ‘paid for’ versions of Kaspersky and Norton on some of my computers 😕
And free versions of AVG and Avast on others !amazed
With my hand on my heart – I can’t really say I notice the difference.

MemberAt least you had your RAM installed for you.
Being a newer member, you will have no idea of the angst created in trying to decide which screwdriver to use to remove the screws on the RAM cover 😉

MemberBluetooth mouse – which means you don’t have to have a USB dongle connected to your netbook 😕
I have no problem connecting my Nokia phone to my Sammy and using my mobile as a 3G modem when I’m away from wireless. Probably worth checking your connection settings 😕

It was £35 including fitting which I now think is very expensive.
[/quote1243204436]
I paid less than £20 for my 2 GB RAM chip, so actually £35 including fitting is not too bad a price to pay.[quote1243204436=Oliver]
They also did not send me the RAM that the machine originally had fitted which I think is very cheeky.
[/quote1243204436]
That is naughty – if you have a problem with your NC20 which requires you to contact Samsung support, they will almost certainly ask you to reinstall the factory fitted RAM before they will be able to help you resolve your problem.[quote1243204436=Oliver]
I also paid over the odds for an external USB powered DVD drive.
[/quote1243204436]
Sorry Ollie – can’t comment on this. Why do you think you paid over the odds 😕[quote1243204436=Oliver]
Be warned when seeing what looks like a good price for the machine itself that they will make up the rest in the extras you buy.

This is a very good point and a good warning to all our members. Thank you, Ollie 🙂TCMuffin
MemberHi Ollie
Proper battery condition has been discussed in these threads:
Battery Conditioning
*How to charge the battery optimally?
*Best time to charge battery?
*Battery management
*Does using the AC adapter affect the battery adversely?
*Running on AC only…No battery
Hope that helps 🙂May 24, 2009 at 10:31 pm in reply to: best anti-virus for nc20 netbook–without too much slowdown? #191752TCMuffin
MemberSpeaking personally, I object to the way that McAfee is delivered on so many computers as ‘trialware’ and is then very difficult to remove.
There are many good, free alternatives which don’t consume system resources as much as McAfee, e.g. AVG, Avast, and Avira. So why would anyone want to pay for the same kind of protection which is available for free for non-commercial purposes 😕

MemberHi Ollie
There are some very positive comments about a 9-cell battery supplier in the thread DealExtreme now has the 9 cell battery – cheap! 🙂
Hope that helps 🙂
