MemberWelcome to the forum, cad12 🙂
You may be interested in ninite.com which gives you the option to download and install a shed load of free apps in one go. I’ve used it a lot when setting up new computers.
To quote the nitnite website:
“Ninite installs software fast with default settings and says “no” to browser toolbars and other junk.
Ninite checks your PC’s language and 64-bit support to install the latest, best version of each program.
Ninite runs on Windows XP/Vista/7 and works in the background unattended and 100% hands-free.
All Ninite does is automatically download and install the apps you select. Not even Ninite is installed.”

MemberThank you for another useful post, monxster 🙂
Just one question.
The first set of your instructions gives the command syntax as C: mbrfix /drive 0 fixmbr /yes:
[quote1264012607=monxster]
C: mbrfix /drive 0 fixmbr /yes
[/quote1264012607]The second set of instructions describes the command syntax as fixmbr /drive (num) fixmbr /yes:
[quote1264012607=monxster]
6. Execute: fixmbr /drive (num) fixmbr /yes
[/quote1264012607]Would I be correct in assuming that both should have the same format?
Presumably the correct format is mbrfix /drive (num) fixmbr /yes?
And as Alfihar has said this command will only fix the standard Windows MBR (for XP, Vista, or 7).

I’m not sure, but I think the N510 will run 64-bit software.
Perhaps someone who has a N510 could check 😕

MemberSuper glue?
The chrome is only trim, you don’t need to remove it to access the workings of your NC10, so I’d have no hesitation in using a drop or two of super glue.
Hope that helps 🙂

In W7 SE you cannot change the wallpaper of your desktop 🙁
However, elantraelite has started a thread Windows 7 Starter – change background – found a program that works!. In this thread, jeepers01 has added a link to the relevant software, i.e. Oceanis Change Background Windows 7, called How to Change the Desktop Background in Windows 7 Starter Edition.
Hope that helps 🙂

FWIW, I don’t use Samsung EDM, and the brightness and volume keys work fine without any popups or overlays.
Hope that helps 🙂

MemberHi Andy and welcome to the forum 🙂
The instructions you need are in the thread How to replace Windows XP with Windows 7 on the Restore Partition.
At first sight, these instructions seem intimidating, but FastLaneJB’s post goes into a lot of detail and should be easy to follow.
Hope that helps 🙂
