ParticipantSarge501 – Are you running a dual boot system XP/Win7 32bit?
If so EDM will only run with this tweak.
Choose the Samsung Optimised Power Plan
Hope this helps

No additional electronic parts are required apart from the pci-e connector which has to be soldered in place.
If you are purchasing a 3G card then the aerial can be routed up behind the screen bezel at the side of the lcd screen.
Hope this helps

Participantbigmac38 – Welcome to the forum
Sorry to learn of your 0x0000007b error
This Microsoft kb324103 article gives basic guidance however it could be a hard disk problem or driver conflict issue. Are you installing XP over Win 7SE or on a separate partition?
If you cannot boot to the OS then one possibility is to press F4 at the bios boot screen and restore the system from the recovery partition. Be aware that you will loose all your data on the C: drive in the restore process.
Hope this helps and let us know how you get on

ParticipantFaktados – The other thing I would suggest is to take resistance readings (with power off) between each pair of adjacent pins on the new pci-e and compare the results to readings taken on the original pci-e connector.
Bit of a laborious exercise but it would identify any dry joints or shorts.
Hope this helps

Participantnunboi – Glad you got the dual boot problem sorted.
Easus Partition Manager should help you re-size the partitions if you decide to do so, but if you are not short of space then it will be fine to leave it for the time being.
If you have Samsung software installed you shouldn’t need Eeeratate and it may not work on the sammy. [Ctrl] + [Alt] and right cursor/left cursor, reset with up cursor
Have you had an eeepc before?

Participant[quote1264194482=phil]One thing I saw mentioned a few times was a tool I could boot from that was some kind of advanced version of the recovery tools and had a magic option to fix the MBR. However all download links to it were now dead.
Can someone throw me some pointers?[/quote1264194482]
The AdminTool_for_SRS4.iso link is working and is taken from dosibox’s thread where he has done a sterling job in pioneering the F4 recovery techniques on the sammy IMO

It seems the project will have to be scrapped as a failure. We checked every solder, did loads of measures, verified that the Broadcom cards works but no dice. Either something’s wrong we’re unable to find or the second slot is disabled somehow.
[/quote1264193402]Sorry to learn the bad news 🙁Maybe it’s a ‘dry joint’, re-heating each pin solder might help and I guess you checked for any shorts between pins.
Have you checked you are getting all the right voltages on the pins?

4) At startup I have to select Windows 7 or another option – can I just boot directly into the OS?[/quote1264180850]Welcome to the forumSounds like you have the Windows boot screen for selecting from multiple operating systems at start up.
When you installed Win 7 did you choose to install to the D: drive? If so you have ended up with a dual boot system where you can select either Win 7 (default) or an older OS from the menu, which will be XP. Press Enter at the prompt and Win 7 will boot.
Hope this helps
