The first few times I connected to the internet, I typed in my Network Security Key before I could connect but then I ticked the Connect Automatically box after clicking on the Wireless icon on the System Tray, thinking I could untick it when I wanted to. But the box is no longer there and, although I can go to properties and untick Connect Automatically, this just stops me from connecting until I click Connect but when I do click Connect it doesn’t ask me for my Network Security Key, how can I get that back?
eviuk – Try removing the wireless connection and then re-detect your network and re-connect.
Hope this helps
Thanks for replying. How do I delete my wireless connection?
If you are on your N210 with W7 (I assume XP is similar or has an equivalent, but Im not at my XP machine at the mo):
You should be able to delete it as Jeepers said, but first maybe try this.
(top left-ish)
single left click to select your network, right-click and properties.
On the connection tab you have the option to connect automatically. If its unticked you will have to manually connect. This will still use the stored key however.
In the security tab you will have a tick box to show characters, and an ‘Network security key’ box to remove/replace/alter the key.
You should be prompted for your Admin password at some stage.
As always, before you delete anything make sure you know what the working settings are, just in case.
I think that will do what you want, if not just delete it and re-provide it as Jeepers said.
Hope it helps.
