No problems here although like others I had to run the flash program twice. It appears the first flash updated the Micom and the second flash updated the BIOS. My function keys are working just fine using either XP or Vista.[/quote1230069765] Same here, although I don’t have Vista installed. I am getting used to doing it twice its not the first time, although you would think the installation instructions would indicate the need to do so. Updated, All my Fn keys are working fine, I had eset anti virus and spybot and spy eraser running when i did update and no problems..I am definitely noticing that I am using less power than before. running battery manager I am getting 6.3- 6.6 watts while i am typing this message with my virus software running, on customized profile with lowest screen brightness…. and min processor speed setting, at least one or two watts below what i was getting before and the only change was the bios update!
would like to hear if others are getting improved battery life with update

Even so, Vista actually has less performance on 3d apps and games.
[/quote1229965305]If you install the latest GMA950 drivers, that performance is supposed to go up over the default driver install. That is what other people on the forum had said. [/quote1229970637]
Hi can you link me too this?
As theres quite a lot of drivers on there would like to get the right one..cheers[/quote1230138244] http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2301&lang=eng Not a lot of drivers, only one is available from Intel. December 24, 2008 at 5:05 pm #176960hufn MemberI just ran it last night. I noticed the HDD password – interesting. Also, in boot order, there is now a listing for AHCI HDD4. At least I’m pretty sure it’s new – didn’t notice it before… December 24, 2008 at 7:18 pm #176903dougp MemberI wonder if that’s the SD card? Anyone willing to test it? December 24, 2008 at 9:05 pm #176909Freddy MemberDecember 25, 2008 at 12:05 am #176961hufn MemberYeah, I shoulda mentioned the sd boot – I had tried that myself in hopes… It looks like AHCI is a different kind of disk access, but not sure what it’s for in this… December 25, 2008 at 2:41 am #176958soutthpaw Member[quote1230172611=Freddy]
Noticed the same thing about powerdrain after updating. 9:05 is quite good 🙂
BTW – had no problem with Fn-keys, all are working.[/quote1230172611] I was waiting too see your results as u have put quite a bit of effort into reducing your power usage. As your results are similar then its probably not a fluke. They must have tweaked some stuff in the bios….. you were about 6.7 watts before right? same setup? so its about a 2 watt reduction in power December 25, 2008 at 8:50 am #176968ungureanub MemberDecember 25, 2008 at 9:49 am #176922Alfihar Participant[quote1230198504=ungureanub]Can you tell me, what application is that,Battery Status? Where can I found it?[/quote1230198504]
