It will work fine with one or two aerials, or even none at close range. The maximum speed will be reduced though.
As well as there being engineering samples and fake cards, there are also Intel cards that are designed to work with specific laptops which have a slightly different interface, such as Dell’s. You need to be very careful when you buy one of these cards off eBay.
