How appealing is the 4G connectivity? I’m guessing not every country even has this available yet?!

MemberMy N350 arrived from Amazon today & yes you’re right……..not every country does have 3G/4G connectivity……including the UK!!!
How annoyed am I
I’ve been waiting for this netbook for months, only to find that when delivered (much like it’s forbearers) the sim card slot in the battery compartment is functionless!!
Aggghhh

MemberMeh! Yeah I remember discussing this before!
It seems pretty hard/impossible to get a built in modem these days. 4G is still a way off in the UK, I was reading about the proposed auctions and how there are concerns that there won’t be much interest with the carriers still trying to make money back from 3G!

Member6 cell battery for N350.
I’ve come across a four page PDF on http://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk
If you search for Samsung N350 and click on “video & PDF’s” you can download a Samsung brochure which gives the 6 cell batteries as-
AA=PL2VC6B (or W for white)
I haven’t found anyone selling the N350 with the 6 cell battery, so it looks like you have to buy it with the 3 cell and buy a 6 cell afterwards. Cost seems to be around £50-60.October 26, 2010 at 12:28 pm #216098larchie
MemberI’ just received an e-mail from Samsung UK saying that the N350 is only compatible with the 3 cell battery. I have sent them the link to the Samsung PDF-
http://docs.xenex.co.uk/samsung/NP-N350-JA03UK.pdf
which lists a 6 cell battery as an accessory and asked them if the information is correct. I am waiting for a reply.October 27, 2010 at 7:14 am #216099larchie
Member6 cell battery for N350.
I have received a reply from Samsung UK which confirms that the 6 cell battery is available as an accessory and the part number is-
AA-PL2VC6B (black)
They suggest buying it from one of their service centers (see Samsung UK website), Although many other laptop battery suppliers list it under the above part number. No use searching for “N350 battery” or “NP-N350 battery” as it is too new to be in their database.November 5, 2010 at 10:34 am #216096ohbeardedone
MemberOK final question, I can’t find anywhere whether the N350 will take an upgrade to 2gb. Anybody know?

AA-PL2VC6B (black)The AA-PL2VC6B is NOT compatible with the N350. Mine has just arrived and although very close, it does not physically fit due to having a deeper cross section near the electrical connector. I have just called Samsung and been told repeatedly that the N350 is only compatible with a 3-cell battery, despite the pdf and references to a 6-cell battery on the netbook features page of the Samsung site.

MemberTypical Samsung yet again…
Can we not get a page on the main site that covers what upgrades/accesories etc work with which ever models?
Perhaps in the form of a pull down selection, pick your netbook, pick what you want, gives you options…
From the options could then link to reviews and sellers?December 2, 2010 at 10:49 am #216091Fred232
MemberIn my opinion, one of the worst aspects of owning a Samsung netbook is dealing with samsung (UK anyway) support. When Ive tried to use them, all I’ve had are lies, half-truths, errors or dead ends. My personal opinion of course 😉
But:
I have received a reply from Samsung UK which confirms that the 6 cell battery is available as an accessory and the part number is-
AA-PL2VC6B (black)Yet go to their www site – http://www.samsung.com/uk/?cid=uk_search_google_brand_20100827 stick ‘AA-PL2VC6B’ in the search box, click the first link, click compatible products and only the N150 is listed.
However, if you go to the bottom link of the above search, it shows the N350 as well. But if you look in accessories for N350 and N150, only the N150 has that battery listed. What a twisty maze of a site (just like the support staff 🙂 )
As I say, just my personal opinion, but treat everything they say with large pinches of salt.

MemberI have a 4GB stick of Ram here which i am trying to fit into my Directors Samsung N350 and it does not seem to work!
I have checked the spec and everything is the same
PC3-8500s 1GB to PC3-8500S 4GB and the netbook will not even bring me to the BIOS.Anyone has any ideas? is it not compatible with 4GB? Only 2GB?

MemberChecking around various sites the right 6-cell battery for the N350 looks like it should be AA PB3VC6B – see the Samsung Germany site:
– and this compatible battery site:
http://www.love-battery.com/product_detail.asp?id=6893
So it looks like a 6-cell IS officially supported.
But anyone had any success with this battery yet?
