MemberMine starts in 3 or 4 seconds from sleep mode and the internet is immediately available. This 3 second wake-up is a Windows 7 feature, I DON’T have Samsung’s FASTSTART installed!
If I click the internet icon in my notification bar I get a Windows 7 popup that shows the available connections and can take me to Network and Sharing Centre. Are you letting a Samsung application control your internet connection? Uninstall all the manufacturer ‘bloatware’ and see what happens.

MemberWho says the new model has bluetooth? This IS disappointing. I’ve lost use of the USB port where an UNSIGHTLY, protruding BT dongle HANGS. I often use all three USB ports.
Bluetooth let’s you use a BT earpiece for communicating on the net or with skype AND it allows for a wireless mouse. I even hope to learn how to create a BT network so I can transfer photos from mobile device or to allow me to use the internet via my mobile device if i’m on the road.
Samsung owes us the value of a bluetooth dongle, at least. They wouldn’t deny us that I’m sure, but in the process, they have the right to ask me to ship the machine so they can inspect it and if they’re really evil, replace it and THERE GOES 20 hours I spent tweaking the operating system! I’ve moved on but it wouldn’t hurt to call and demand the cost of a BT dongle.

MemberOMG, turn off aero! Windows 7 Home Premium is the first time i’ve ever given microsoft my money and I think my timing was right. The look and feel is … sensuous? The NF210 complements the experience. Or maybe I just need some time offline. Those are solid tips though. Couldn’t even add anything except for the obvious, selecting a lower performance setting by clicking the battery icon running in the notification area. Thanks.

MemberI swear, Bestbuy.ca is the WORST in service. I got my 210 but had to call back several times and literally beg someone to call VISA to verify. If you have any doubt i’ll direct you to their terms that remind you pressing the BUY NOW button just sends them an OFFER that they can refuse if they like.
Upto last night the NF210 is on at $259 and they have no inventory, the buy button is greyed out. In the car business it’s called bait and switch.

Sorry Ruahr, that you are so unhappy this Holiday Season. I have had a very different experience with Samsung customer service; found them to be very professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I absolutely LOVE my NF210, and consider it the best netbook to date. If this model doesn’t do it for you, I fear that no netbook will meet your expectations.
Merry Christmas!!

FocusOnNewfoundland.comRoar is rightly pissed man. i’ll probably never use the bluetooth either but I paid for it. I once had a lady refuse to test drive the best selling car in canada cause it didnt have bluetooth. Well, she’s just an idiot but my point is bluetooth must add value or they wouldn’t have put it on the dang box as a feature.

MemberNF210 & win7homepremium
All we have in common is the machine, there are alot of variables in the software you have installed since opening the box. To be fair we should do some sort of basic bootup before running this comparison test. Anyway. Read my numbers and weep peasants! Bow before my 210! NASA asked me to borrow it the other day but I had to meet my friends at the coffee shop.

This probably isn’t the case,…
“Wise guy eh?” Well you were right, the bluetooth service was set to manual. i changed it to automatic but the samsung win7 bluetooth driver is still asking me to turn on the device. Two services you say? Would you mind naming the associated services and startup programs i should be looking for. Appreciate it.

What kind of RAM ( = which Crucial part #) did you add? As far as I can tell, the Crucial.com site offers
Part #: CT1589210 • DDR3 PC3-10600 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1333
and
Part #: CT1589211 • DDR3 PC3-8500 • CL=7 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR3-1066and the first of these is the one that would enable the RAM to run at 667MHz.

WHAT???oh yeah. i shoehorned a crucial 64gb ssd in there when i was upgrading the ram. i also clean-installed win7homeprem. wish i had measured stuff before i turned it into Franken-sung.

MemberHi. Please post your progress. My bluetooth device is still invisible.

Member‘someone’ told me they crammed this 2.5″ 64gb Crucial REALSSD into their nf210 and besides the slight bulge he’s not seen any ill effects. be prepared to void your warranty once you’ve taken a screw driver to the netbook.

MemberhEY. i have the same problem. ive installed a legit copy of win7homepremium and pulled all the drivers, software downloads from the samsung nf210 support page but when i run the bluetooth software it asks me to first ‘turn on my bluetooth device’. unless one of the network adapters doubles as a bluetooth device i wonder if bluetooth isn’t supported.
