MemberWeird – I was wrong, it didn’t disable it, just threw an error when I plugged in the usb drive. Removed, plugged back in and it works (regardless of how I have Bluetooth set, as it should be). Maybe a driver issue, maybe it just doesn’t like my 5 year old cruzer.

MemberHow to disable the balloon tips is in your guide – I meant that that was one of the tips on your list that I haven’t done yet, but want to. Still need to try BootVis as well.
As to Bluetooth, I guess I must’ve done something wrong. I didn’t think it should disable a usb port; but when I disabled something for Bluetooth through the device manager, the right usb port was disabled. I re-enabled the Bluetooth thing, and the usb port worked again. (I would be more specific about what I disabled but the Sammy’s at home and I’m not.)

MemberGot my nc10 on Monday. 😀 There are a couple more edits from these suggestions that I want to make (get rid of those balloon tips? yes please!!), and more importantly my C: partition (yeah, partitioned it to keep programs on one, docs on the other) is in need of a good defragmentation. As is now, I’m getting 43-45s boot time and shut down in 9-10s. Wonder how the defrag on my programs partition will affect that.
Question, though. Maybe I’ve just overlooked the answer somewhere in this thread – or did something wrong to begin with – but how can I disable Bluetooth without disabling a USB port?
