MemberOK, so maybe there is one thing I miss from the UK. My 3Mb connection is described as ‘Lightening Fast’ here, and costs 69-95 Euros/month plus tax, about 70 quid.

Member@ fingerman – before I stripped my Aspire One to add memory I watched someone do it on YouTube a few times. I actually had it running on another PC whilst I did it.
Unfortunately I don’t seem to be able to find a similar guide there for the NC10 but you may have better luck. It helped me a lot, from finding screws (2 of which were under rubber feet) to seeing what had to go back where.

MemberHi Jayne. I’m not keen on the green smileys here, as you see. I use either the standard or ‘hidden’ emoticons from Yahoo Messenger found on the interweb

MemberI will try the spacebar solution too, my trackpad scroll comes and goes apparently randomly and I never figured out why. Maybe I have a solution now ๐ Cheers.

MemberIn my English accent, not ‘British’ I get the feeling I ought to be saying the phrase “get a room you two”

MemberHaha, I thought you’d be teased out with my car analogy Jayne. I am not in a position to mention power output and mind blowing numbers with my current car as I have been in the past.
I am not really thinking too much about my next machine, being rather satisfied with my NC10 for my needs/wants, I am not a power user at all. Sure, better sound so I wouldn’t have to plug in my Boynq speaker might be nice, but that may then be compromised by a larger size overall.
Netbook evolution will take its course, mainly dictated by the buying choices of others while I have my current machine. there is always something ‘better’ around the corner ๐

MemberThat’s an interesting and odd question!
I couldn’t care less what Samsung make, TBH, they will make whatever they make.
If your question is really asking ‘what design might you buy in the future?’ then personally functionality rules over looks.
For example; I wouldn’t buy a pretty car that does 0 to 60 in 19 seconds, I’d be chatting to the salesman standing next to the ugly bastid that did it in 6 seconds ๐

MemberThe Safely Remove Hardware icon is in the tray at the bottom right of your screen, it has a little green arrow. If you put your cursor over the icons there a pop-up will say what each one is.
Basically all this does is tell you that any operation to do with that hardware, in this case a USB stick, has finished. If data is still being written to it as you remove the stick then you will likely receive error messages such as the ones you have had.
Looks like good news re your harddrive, hopefully ๐
