MemberThere is no set specific way of checking battery life. Each tester uses what they use as a standard so they can compare different brands relative to each other. One tester will use full volume, full brightness and full screen video whilst to get their comparative results whilst another will test using ‘normal’ usage of 3 bars brightness and some office work, and another will test a different way. All of these methods are valid but are not comparable one to another, so there is no definitive answer. Even different OSs will produce different results.

MemberWelcome to the forum sablade,
A bit late now I know, but there is a sticky thread on the forum here about the different battery options being (some would say sneakily) offered.

MemberHi rony1434, welcome to the forum,
I have been running MSE for quite a while now, it seems unobtrusive, and I imagine it is working OK, I have had no problems.

MemberHi Mark,
I have turned down an offer previously from my brother though, so I shan’t accept, thanks for offering anyway.
As you imply, they are quite rare just now so I am sure some people will take you up 🙂

MemberHi smrt,
There is no actual upgrade path from XP, only from Vista. You will need to do a fresh install. It looks easy though (mine seems to be somewhere between UK and Spain still), and there is a Win 7 forum here with loads of info 🙂
And a Wiki entry here

MemberHi bryangold, welcome to the forum,
Very rarely.
I can think of a couple of reasons; going to sleep whilst leaving Messenger running or saving battery if you don’t want to shut down or go into sleep mode for a few minutes away… I expect there are more.

MemberHi inbetweendays, welcome to the forum.
So far nobody here has found any model or variation which cannot be upgraded to 2 Gb, don’t worry, I doubt we’ll find one which can’t now.
