MemberHi nmhotel, welcome to the forum,
There are various threads here about touchscreens. I would think that your main concerns would be the size, and what connectors it has. Be aware that the NC10 and N120 have slightly different size screens, one may not fit the other’s housing.

MemberHi srvsn,
That XP boot time does seem slow. Maybe it’s worth investigating what it set to load and run at startup, perhaps there’s an AV running a scan.

MemberHi fingerman,
Someone who bought a 3 cell version and has since upgraded may be willing to sell you one. Have you tried Ebay or second hand ads?

MemberHi walkerk, welcome to the forum,
It must be a combination of keys which is doing this I would think, like shift+ctrl+[letter]. I can’t replicate it, but you may be able to if you try combinations of the last letter typed correctly or the next expected one.
I have not heard of it happening all by itself as yet.

MemberHi Charmaine,
Read all of the replies to the performance post. Some tweaks may gain performance but at the expense of functionality, so be aware of that. Think car; to make it go faster someone might, rightly, suggest that you remove all of the seats bar the driver’s one to save weight. So you have a faster car but you cannot use it for the reason you bought it. Some of the post’s replies point out some pitfalls to avoid.

MemberHi Joaxx,
It’s unclear, I would ask MKE if I were you.

MemberHi riffraff,
Opening your Samsung could invalidate your warranty, it could be argued that by doing so you damaged the fan. If I were Samsung I would probably say the same.
Make sure that you remove any parts that you have replaced before sending it back, what if they replace the whole unit? You have lost your new card. That also applies to any RAM that you may have replaced.
Don’t forget to backup all of your data too, and wipe any private, personal details. Good luck.

MemberHi caveman38, welcome to the forums,
A backup of your original setup should have been performed when you initially set your machine up. It is accessible by using the F4 key at boot.
For subsequent restore points see ‘Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore’. I think that’s right, mine is in Spanish.

MemberXP and Win 7 appear to have most fans, but I cannot say that I have tried other than XP yet. OS is generally a personal choice, there is the ‘feel’ of your chosen one to consider. Win 7 Starter may be the most least liked, but again it’s choice. There are various forums here to gather a lot of information from 🙂
“Even though we’re using a standard retail-purchased copy of OS X, the disclaimer: Apple does not like Hackintoshing. It violates the OS X EULA” – This is an excerpt from How to Hackintosh a Dell Mini 9, which is why we prefer not to discuss, encourage or endorse such activities on these forums. (The link is merely to confirm my source).

MemberHi anubis, welcome to the forum,
We tend to stick to ‘normal’ licensed or open source OSs on these forums, but a spot of Googling shows that other forums indicate that NC10s have been hackintoshed successfully.
There are various versions of Linux discussed on the ‘Linux and other OS chat’ forums here as they have no licensing issues to worry about generally. If you prefer not to use Windows then it might be worth a nose in there 🙂

MemberHi shadowtowel,
I am running wired internet just now, I am on XP and intend changing to Win 7 asap so I couldn’t be bothered reinstalling the Atheros driver, but that would be my guess.
I shut down my NC10, went out for 2 hours, returned and booted up only to find no wireless. My old laptop sees the router so I know the problem is with my netbook. And yes, I did check all the usual settings.

MemberHi kodo28, welcome to the forum,
You need 667 or 800Mhz, so buy the PC2 6400 out of the choice you showed.

MemberSame here, but it’s not something I even noticed until now.
