Hi keepers 01. Thanks for your swift reply. I’ve been doing some investigative work and the tongue is part of a very small switch on the front of the motherboard that fits into a slot in the switch that is on the front of the machine. I can boot up the net book by pushing across a small slider in the motherboard switch ( to which the original tongue was attached ) using a small screwdriver. The replacement screen I have fitted looks good but I am stumped as to how to create a new tongue that will be strong enough to pull the tiny slider across. Bad original design by Samsung but if I can crack it the I’ll let others know. I am thinking that a tiny screw might get enough purchase but I don’t know how I will get it screwed in! Any bright ideas would be most welcome.

I have the same problem as others in that I took the case off me wife’s Samsun N130 to replace the screen (tricky hinges). Unfortunately the power switch doesn’t spring back or activate the laptop. I googled the part number Samsung sent to satismo and found it on a French site:

It is order only but before I do order it can you tell me whether you have had any luck with this and whether samsung have confirmed it is the only part needed? There seems to be the suggestion that it requires the installation of a new motherboard to fix. If so any ideas where I can get one of these at reasonable cost?
