Thanks for the reply sannymore but if it was just a video problem I would expect the laptop to boot and see disk activity with no screen output. Have put an external screen on it and still the same. This isn’t even getting to the bios stage. But thanks for your response mate much appreciated. As far as I am aware it was not dropped.
Have taken off the bottom,Looks like it has a short on the mobo where the memory module connects there is white powder there. With a magnifying glass you can see the damaged land patternds so new mobo and memory prob too expensive.

If there is NO display on screen at all – I would respectfully suggest that there is a Video display problem.
IF the netbook has NOT been recently dropped and is still under warranty; I suggest that the user contacts Samsung and arranges a return for repair under warranty.
If the netbook has been dropped; you might take the back cover off (and keyboard) to check that the video connector is firmly seated and /or anything obviously cracked/broken.

A friend has asked me to look at her sammy N150 as it doesnt power up anymore. The symptoms are as follows. From power off with no mains. There are no lights on front. I plug in the mains and the battery light goes green then immediately orange. I slide the power on button and the disk light comes on blue for three seconds and goes out. I can still hear the disk spinning if I put my ear to the machine. All through this there is nothing displayed on the screen and no beeps.
Right, these are the things that I have tried.
1. remove battery and just try power battery light stays green but still nothing
2. remove battery and power for 5 mins and retry. Nothing
3 remove memory and reseat. Nothing
4 reset bios by shorting rtc pins by side of memory . NothingAny thoughts or suggestions guys. Am happy to open up the laptop as I have stripped several down and there is a utube tut for this particular model
Anyone ant thoughts on this guys?? I see some threads have over a 1000 views and one response dont think she will wait that long LOL
