MemberYep I find Nero 6 series a lot less bloatware and other crappy install of stuff starting with Nero 7 on up. And the one I have been using.
Tho there are some good freeware with even less resources and install size.

MemberIs there any kind of real world comparison between the built in Atheros and Intell 5300?
I ask as I am at the outter range 100-150 ft of a free wifi AP from my 7th story apt. Have about 60% good connect but is erratic 4 ft more from my window where I lay and use netbook. Some nights its OK and other nights forget about it.
Also I notice that the atheros client has a 100mW and 63mW power level but seems locked in at 40mW and set to Albania?
And can’t adjust power or change country origin. Thanks

MemberGood Idea is to copy your MBR before fiddling. Maybe you can get someone to copy and make available for download?

MemberYep just got the MS 5000 Bluetooth. Like it enough tho the loud’ish scroll wheel clicking when scrolling is a bit annoying. Came with a nice little pouch and battery life is suppose to be outstanding.

MemberOk further investigation shows Speed mode is for application based speedup and not system based.

MemberYep no reging for Spybot or Ad-aware and recommend those also.
AVG is Ok for anti-virus but I prefer Nod32 which costs but is highly regarded and isn’t a resource hog.

MemberYep just posted in Beginners Questions on this issue:
“Just upgraded to 7.6.1.210 drivers.
The pulldown for 2.4ghz power shows 100mw but wifi is actually showing 40mw Tx power.
I turned off power saving for wireless but doesn’t change anything.1) How do I get it to go 100mw?
2) Why is it set to Albania? and not changeable? Something to do with “The Albania Mob?”orb9220
MemberThanks for the reply Alfihar!

MemberOn that note then as still waiting for my NC10 to arrive. Is there any advantage of Bluetooth over Usb?
Haven’t decide whether getting a BT would be better leaving a usb open for other things?
And if one or the other gives more or less time before charging?

MemberYep just ordered my NC10 from amazon on the 17th. And was at same decision. Would have like the bigger touchpad and 15%-20% additional battery life. But the bigger touchpad breaks the special finger gestures and is not supported. And there appears no fix as it is a hardware and software deficit.
