What a nightmare, thought I would do something nice and replace the keyboard on my wife’s netbook, I didn’t know I could do this without even opening the case up! Doh.
After opening it all up and closing it again I realised it would not power on WTF. Looked at the switch and there was nothing connecting it, thought something might have popped out and rolled somewhere when I opened it so turned house upside down looking for a switch or spring thing!! Seriously was looking everywhere for about an hour!
Then came to this forum and realised it was a TINY hairline piece of plastic that snapped off! Thanks Samsung! I managed to get a new switch on Ebay for a fiver delivered.
Took it to someone I know who knows how to solder and while removing it one of the contact parts came off with the heat so once soldered back on a piece was missing that could not be re-soldered and the thing is sooooo delicate, miniature and fiddly lol. In the end he had to do a patch job and wire the part onto another contact area on the board but worked like a charm and saved me a fortune replacing the motherboard!!!!
All I will say is it is not easy to replace that little switch so good luck!
