Memberthank you all.
hjsnc20,
there are some threads on this forum about the freezing nc20 caused by latest video drivers ver.6.14.10.213 from samsung.com [& the scrolling in FF]
As others I rolled back to previous ver.6.14.10.182 in Device Manager to fix the problem.
So you are using the latest video drivers from VIA’s site and they are other than the latest ver.6.14.10.213 from samsung.com?
And no problems with the freezing?September 19, 2009 at 9:27 am in reply to: chipset driver for NC20 – "Chipset (ver.3.0.0.0)" – [samsung.com] #201374lisek
Memberthanks jeepers01,
understood. My problem is, I don’t know where is the chipset driver exactly in DeviceManager/SystemDevices.
That’s funny because I’ve installed VIA chipset driver ver. 3.0.0.0 from samsung.com, but I can not find it in DeviceManager/SystemDevices. I see mostly Microsoft drivers.I can see VIA drivers:
VIA MSP DRAM Contoller
VIA MSP Miscellaneous Bus
VIA MSP Module Bus
VIA MSP PCI Express Root Port [x2]
VIA MSP Power Management Controller
VIA MSP Scratch Device
VIA MSP Standard Host Bridge [x4]All these VIA drivers have number 6.0.0.300 dated 2007.06.21
Does it mean I have the newest VIA chipset drivers ver.3.0.0.0 now?

Memberplevi
sorry, it’s a misunderstanding, because of my poor english:)
Again, my question: where can I find the chipset driver that is installed in my xphome? I don’t want to use exstra sofware for this like DriverMax [that jeeper mentioned].
I wrote: “not via extra software” but “via” for me is not VIA – company.
I mean “not by means of extra software” ok?
Sorry again.September 18, 2009 at 6:44 pm in reply to: chipset driver for NC20 – "Chipset (ver.3.0.0.0)" – [samsung.com] #201372lisek
MemberQuote:I’m still alive, so …I believe but…
first, I need to know what chipset driver I have – can you help me how check it up? – in winxp not via extra software.
second, if I know I will download the driver from samsung.com or viaarena.com [give the link to the page with description of chipset driver, not to the driver file directly please, I would like to know what I test;)]thanks in advance

MemberWell, first I have xphome on the nc20.
Uninstalled Samsung Update Plus soon after I I’ve got nc20.
Prefer manual driver updating.
DriverMax? Is it Samsung software?I can’t find VIA chipset driver ver.3.0.0.0 in System Information/ System Drivers.
Where is a chipset driver? Please help:)

MemberWell, I don’t have english version of winxp but follow this:
control panel > system > hardware > device manager
next find your BT
right click on it > properties > choose “do not use the device”
click “ok”done:)

MemberCavgirl,
I have had similar observations.
But I don’t have Samsung Battery Manager, maybe that is a reason [besides, I have only Easy Display Manager & Magic Keyboard from Samsung software]lisek
Memberwondering, is the shut down via the power button – safe for HDD?

MemberHi! My first post:)
Had the same problem for 3 weeks with FF and the latest driver 6.14.10.213.
I noticed that the use of IE6 or IE8 instead of FF3.5.2 reduces number of the lockups.
First I uninstalled FF3.5.2 , returned to FF3.0 – it helped on some pages.
Finally I rolled back to the previous driver 6.14.10.182 via device manager – it’s ok for now, one day I mean:)edit:
One question, does work for you when your nc20 freezes?
Not for me at all, nothing works, nor touchpad, nor keyboard 🙁Greetings from PL
