MemberManufacture date of September 2009 for me on my N120. No connector either. Guess that’s one mod that will have to wait.

MemberAnd now that I look at that, while it does, I think putting in the video decoder will throw a wrench into that process…so maybe I will wait on the video decoder install.

MemberOkay, does this seem like it will work?
I’ll open up the gift N120, remove the hard drive and put in my original N120 drive. (It’s got the Western Digital cloning software that I used to clone it to the WD drive in my N120). While I’m in there, I’ll install the video decoder and 2GB of RAM, like I did with mine.
Power up the machine, and connect the removed OEM drive and the target drive via SATA to USB cables, and clone the OEM drive to the new WD drive.
Install the WD drive into the N120, power on and go to BIOS to confirm the drive size, power down and then the computer is as new the first time she turns it on.
Does that seem feasible? Thanks!

MemberSeamless for them, but quite a pain you-know-where for me! Hmmm, I do have extra computers lying around. And USB to SATA cables, so theoretically, I can do that.

MemberThat makes sense – okay, thank you so much for the quick reply. I think the hurdle will be wrestling away the computer from her after Christmas, but she can always just play with mine.
Thanks for the help!

MemberThanks jeepers.
I just want to be able to give her the ability to turn on the machine for the first time and have it guide her through the setup process.
If F4 will reset the setting up that I do, then that’s what I want to do. Thanks!
