Memberask ém!
i am in grave need of the partition fileslazer72
MemberI have a Samsung NC10 and have had it for about 2 years without a problem but now for some reason ,every time i tried to log on it would say ”FATAL SYSTEM ERROR’ ‘and then restart.
so then i decided to try to restore it from a previous backup, so i booted up and pressed F4 to go to the recover console but when i tried to do a complete restore it said ‘The partition to be restored is too small . Please increase partition size first’.
so i thought it was because the partition was full so i downloaded and burnt Partition Wizard to a disk and booted from it using an external dvd drive. After it had booted i deleted the (C:) partition and then reformatted the Unallocated space to the NTFS format and then rebooted and pressed F4, however the backup file i had did not show up, only the Initial status restore point did.
I realized this was because when i deleted the (C:) partition it had made the backup partition (D:) and changed the drive letter to (C;) and when i created the new partition it had labelled it (E:). So i went into Partition Wizard and tried to change to letters but the the option wasn’t highlighted so i rebooted pressed F4 it came up with the blue background but then showed an error saying it could not find Manager1.exe or something .
i went into Partition Wizard again and shrunk the now (C:) by 6gb and created a copy partition of the hidden one into the space , deleted the original ,moved the copy to where the original was and then expanded the (C;) (dunno why i did all this) i rebooted pressed F4 and nothing happened, i suspect i had overwritten the MBR, i tried using the Admin Tool for SRS4 to fixe it but i could never get it to boot and used grub4dos to try and manually boot from it but to no avail.
i have installed win7 enterprise on the (E:) which had switched the drive letters right again (C is C and D is D etc.) but now i cant get to the Samsung Recovery Solution console!!! F4 doesnt get me through to it and when i try to install SRS on the win7 OS it said “There is no Samsung Recovery area on your hard disk setup will be cancelled”.
Please help as soon as u can! I have been at it for weeks and am going crazy! -
