Hey all,

Yeah, unfortunately this lock up thing has just started happening to my NC20 too; 3 times in the past few days, and its just under 2 months old 🙁

Can someone confirm for me that this version of the VIA Chrome 9 version is causing the issue:
6.14.10.173

I read in an earlier post that it was 6.14.10.213 that was causing the issue and that the advice was to roll back, but isnt the 173 and earlier version of 213?

Many thanks for any light anyone can shed on the subject.

Hi Joel,

In that case, I thoroughly recommend the NC20. I’ve had mine just over a month, and use it pretty much everyday for internet browsing and email via the 3G modem as I dont have bband at home. I reckon I usually get a good 3 hours out of it before it gets down to 20% battery life.

If you’re not fussed about screen size a lot of people on here prefer the NC10 and I from what I hear the battery life is better (and I belive, the best on the market). For me the bigger keyboard and screen size of the NC20 wins it as I do a lot of typing and would hate having to keep scrolling up and down on a smaller screen when web browsing.

Hi Joel,

I use a Tmobile 3G modem with my NC20 regularly and have not noticed any discernable impact on the battery life.

The 3G modem seems to work just as well with the NC20 as it does on higher powered, dual-cored laptops that I have used at work. As I’m sure you’re aware though, streaming HD on a NC20 is a non-starter.

What are you going to be using your NC20 and 3G modem for?

thanks Jayne. The forum looks like a really good resource and query base, as well as being very friendly. have already ordered my kingston 2gb as well, and am fortunate to work in IT dept with lots of helpful people on hand, so fingers crossed many happy nc20 days are ahead of me! 🙂
