e107 0.8 should have much improved search. Much improved everything tbh! It’s great to know there is a team of developers working away at a massive SammyNetbook.com upgrade (and 1000s of other e107 sites) hehe.

I was pleased to go from 256kb to, hmmm, is it 1mb up when I switched to O2. It makes a big difference when going from somehing so low.
But after that I’m less bothered. Getting 512kb down was awesome when you’ve only had a modem at home but the jump to 1mb then 2mb and now 8mb hasnt been so exciting. I feel the same about up speed. I guess I’m happy I can download good quality streaming vid. I don’t think I need anything faster.
Of course we all use the net differently 🙂
What I think is funny is that they have download limits, so you have 200mb down which means you hit your limit in 10mins and not 30. Great!
The more we link to the wiki getting started article directly in time the big G will rank it at the top for such a query.
Occasionaly the internal search (ie here) does give better results but it only searches specific content fields in the db. Google spiders everything!.
The problem I had with gaming was that the screen is so small I just couldn’t see the bd guys in the distance.

Yeah I can never remember which eee is which lol! But I think the 1008HA is the one that is hotly anticipated right now. Unless I’ve missed something it is not ground breaking but at that price it seems an attractive proposition.
Good idea Steve! I think ultimately there is no way the community will maintain 5 lists, for the reason you mention.
So a big grid with yes/no if it has been tested, blank if untested. If there needs to be product specific info we could make a little link in the box and a new page “Running xyz on the NC20”.

This extra complication just puts me off, I was reading that thinking hmm I wonder if I could get away with putting an old XP license on instead. Which can’t be right.
Keep things simple MS, selling more copies at low cost is surely better for you! Will be interesting to see if this allows Linux back into the game after a promising netbook start.
