Thanks Jez.
Been a while since I played an Amiga game, always liked driving and semup’s ( project x springs to mind ). Visit the old stuff from time to time, but it shows your age !! Was it really that long ago 🙂

If you think that is old I remember playing Elite on a BBC micro! 🙂Edit – YouTube link added 🙂

Participantsjonnie9999 i don’t know about the availablility of wireless in Scotland but I would agree with Jez’s advice. Perhaps a call to the local Scottish Tourist office in Fort Augustus, if there is one, may provide some local wireless availability information.
I think you may be better off with 2G/3G/hsdpa, but you will need to check operator coverage in the areas you intend to visit. You will probably only get 2G speeds though (O2 coverage for Fort Augustus is 2G). Consider carriers such as O2, Three and Vodaphone as they all sell ‘pay and go’ usb modems for approx £30 to £40 and extra 1Gb data for around £15 for a month.
Another alternative if your existing dongle is unlocked is to try and use an O2 iPhone 3G sim with free internet which you can buy on ebay for a few pounds only
If it turns out there is no coverage where you are going and if the cottage has a phone, then there is always 56k dialup (shudder) 🙂
Hope this helps
ps don’t forget to post the Loch Ness monster piccies here first 🙂
June 25, 2009 at 9:38 pm in reply to: Beta testers needed for Netbook DVD Movie Streaming Application #194757jeepers01
ParticipantNetDVD sounds similar to TVersity (which works very well streaming video files over networks)
As Bertolt rightly points out it is currently easy to stream over wireless from a remote DVD and to control the DVD functions without using proprietary software
Perhaps you could provide some description of the aspirations of NetDVD and how we can benefit from the software package
I notice that you have posted the same post on eeeuser and I will be interested to see the response received on that forum
Perhaps I have missed the point – please convince me otherwise

…have others also found this touch pad to be over sensitive and have chosen to de-activate as per above?

You may not have seen this thread Make your touchpad work like a trackball (Synaptics Momentum)If you have not tried the momentum setting I highly recommend it, as it transforms the operation of the touchpad – In fact Samsung should enable it as a default setting IMHO
Hope this helps

I have just received my NC10 HSPDA unit.
I looked thru the grille and see a card of sorts – not sure if it’s the HSPDA card.
Also, I do not see “Samsung Mobile Connect software icon” but do see the Samsung COnnection Manager icon – is this same one you are referring to?
Byte[/quote1245930506]
It will be the Samsung hsdpa card you can see through the grille
The Connection Manager you see is the same as the one I was refering to in my earlier postYou will need to get a 3G mobile sim card – I use one from an O2 payg usb stick modem but you can buy the sim only on ebay which is a cheaper solution or use the iPhone payg sim
If you need help with the Connection Manager profile settings for the sim you choose, just ask. I have working payg settings to hand for O2, Vodafone and Three if you need them
Hope this helps

Hello All,A quick question, would the simple removal of CMOS battery for a few minutes clear the CMOS of NC20?
Thanks all.

The short answer is yes, but why would you need to do that?jeepers01

Hi
I use a Swordfish Sleeve for my N120 and it’s great. The Sammy is a nice snug fit and the Velcro secured flap closes without stretching the case unlike a couple of others I tried.

I’ve got one of those, fits my NC10 a treat and protects it welljeepers01

I’m totally sure, it’s the sim that I use inside my 3g Huawei modem every day…
[/quote1245883931]
I was talking about a 3G modem card (pci-e) fitted in the hsdpa on board connector
If you haven’t got one fitted in the sammy then that explains why it is not working for you?jeepers01
ParticipantYou don’t mention what programs you have tried or the problems you have encountered
There have been many posts on the subject of partitioning, try searching for “partition” in the forum search boxHope this helps

ParticipantWinamp used to cause this type of phenomena. The trick was to only operate the volume control from within winamp
It might help to move up to Windows Media Player 11
What other media apps have you got installed?

I saw that topic, but when I tried my 3g sim card inside the n120, didn’t worked… I think it must be some kind of software thing, but I don’t know what must I do…
[/quote1245870490]
Are you sure you have a 3G card fitted in the sammy?
Normal phone cards do not always work (except the O2 iPhone sim)
You will have probably have Samsung Mobile Connect software installed if it is 3G enabledjeepers01
ParticipantFor those interested in customising Chrome have a look at Chromespot.com
Having updated to Version 2 recently it has now locked up and will not load any pages at all.
Not being blocked by firewall so I’ll be doing a re-install.Anyone else had this problem?

ParticipantIt look quite nice, although a little bigger than the NC10.
The ATI Radeon X1270 graphics appears an encouraging advance. It brings back memories – I had (still got somewhere) a Gateway notebook years ago with a DX2 66 processor and win 95 – that was cutting edge stuff then ! 🙂

Participantdaveb – Welcome to the forum, there are a lot of helpful and courteous people here and if you have any queries, just ask
I have been very pleased with my NC10, which I bought at Christmas, so I ended up buying another one a couple of weeks ago for my wife who is also equally pleased.
(This could get expensive as our daughter is angling for one as well now !)
