ParticipantModel number coding was discussed a while ago on the forum and this wiki entry was compiled with the results.
Different Models AvailableInterestingly the KB02, 3 and 4 models were UK with 6 cell batteries
As far as I remember there was no difference in model numbers to distinguish whether it contained a 6 or 3 cell battery although this may have changed now.

Participantsonysandy – On our machines one has a Samsung HM160HI and the other has a WD Scorpio Blue WD1600BEVT.
So that’s 3 different drives that Samsung fit but I think there are others as well?

Participant[quote1255546915=wtcls]Hi,
I installed Windows 7 ultimate on my NC10 and it worked fine. Fast too. The Samsung driver dvd didn`t work, said it wasn`t compatible with the OS but I didn’t have to install any drivers because W7 has them all…….except 1 , the driver for the Atheros WiFi modem. I searched their (Czech) site but couldn`t find one for W7. LAN works fine. Anybody any suggestions ??
Thanks ![/quote1255546915]
I think you might find this thread useful for the driver for the Wlan
Windows 7 NC20 Driver Pack – Updated to v1.2It contains the Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Driver Version = 8.0.0.171
It’s a slow download though 🙁
Hope this helps

Yipeee! Look like I have cracked it.Removed everything to do with BT Broadband last Saturday and since then my n110 has connected to the internet first time with no problems.[/quote1255543083]
That’s good news. I’d assumed that you were using XP wireless zero to connect, so it wasn’t apparent that BT connection software was being used and the subsequent cause of the problem.Still , all’s well that ends well 🙂
Thanks for reporting back to us

What should my DNS server address be? Right now on the Sammy it’s 192.168.0.1, which is the one listed if I go into the router settings. Yours in your example at the thread linked above is completely different.[/quote1255528190]
The DNS server addresses are normally given by your ISP and will be contained in the router, so use those or you can use the ones I’d linked to as they are OpenDNS.org and are fast here in the UK.Whist you are in the router check that someone has not setup mac address filtering which would block you sammy from getting access.
Quote:I had already gone in and changed the IP address as shown in your other thread prior to this, but I’m still wondering about the DNS serverYour IP address we are testing the sammy on is the one in use on your laptop which may/will be different to the example
