Participantteeedubb – Welcome to the forum
You might be interested in this thread which is a similar wifi mod.
AFAIK the bootable usb is the one on the right hand side and don’t forget to set usb hdd as boot device number one in the bios.Hope this helps

ParticipantJamWheel – Your post seems to have slipped under the radar 🙂
Not heard of your particular problem before but I would try:
Un-installing the O2 connection manager, re-install/upgrade the Synaptics Touchpad driver. Then re-install the O2 connection manager software.
While your re-installing the Synaptics driver you may be interested in this thread and enable Momentum. It transforms the trackpad operation IMHO.
Hope this helps

Participantiyc_nyc – Strange that the driver is not reflecting the correct version but it doesn’t really matter if it’s working now with 15ft range – it’s a result!
If it aint broke now don’t fix it 🙂

Participantchrisp7 – The second pci-e slot as correctly stated above is highlighted in this extract below.
Soldering details can be found in this thread (which I think you may well have seen already?)

ParticipantSpeed3 – I think this demonstrates the virtues of this forum where members go out of their way to help others.
Some members really do go the extra mile to help, but that is what makes for a good, friendly and successful forum such as we have here. Well done Alfihar.
On a lighter note I found it interesting following the thread unfold live last night and in fact at some stages it was a bit like following an Instant Messenger conversation 🙂
I admit that tiredness forced an early (late?) end to the proceedings at 2AM for me and I notice that Alfihar was still posting at 3:32AM.
On the statistics front, this thread must be the quickest 7 pages, 70 posts in forum history and it probably goes in the record books as attracting the most thanks given in any one thread 🙂
Perhaps we should rename the thread something like “Ubuntu Install – How to” and make it a sticky in the Linux forum?
It’s certainly a blow by blow detailed guide 🙂However the burning question remains unanswered
Speed3 – Is Ubuntu now successfully running?
Hope so 🙂jeepers01
Participant[quote1262167838=mjhead]Much appreciated. Wil check the dongles out.[/quote1262167838]Your welcome, let us know how it goes

Participantiyc_nyc – I’m a firm believer in only updating drivers when there is a perceived or known benefit in doing so, as in your case with the BT driver.
Otherwise if it aint broke don’t fix it 🙂

Participantsturm1909 – You could also try a complete removal and then re-install of FF. Backup (export) your bookmarks and make a note of any Add-ons you have as these will be lost in the process.
After re-install FF will prompt to update Flash and will automatically choose the version to install.
Good luck and hope it helps

Participant[quote1262132083=steve-0]there is no squeeling at all with earphones plugged in jeepers
so where would i go from here[/quote1262132083]You could try re-installing the sound driver but I doubt that will fix it as it appears that the problem is isolated now to the speakers/amplifier final circuitry.I would give Samsung support a ring and report it as a warranty issue.
From what I understand, they are very helpful and will advise on the best course of action to take.Hope this helps and let us know how you get on

Participantsharpharp – That is definitely not normal behaviour and I would strongly recommend that you do not use it any more for fear of electrocution. Get it replaced by Samsung under warranty and if any doubt consult a qualified electrician to certify it.
It could also be a faulty wall socket. Has it done it with any other appliances plugged into the same socket? If so get your electrician to fix it for you and re-test the installation.
Yes the situation is that serious

ParticipantSpeed3 – There is a very detailed tutorial here with pictures of every step for the install, including the screens you are referring to above.
Hope this helps

Participantsteve-0 – I wonder if it does the same with headphones.
Mind your ears though when testing 🙂The reason behind this is if it does the same with headphones (or external speakers if you have them) then it probably points to the amplifier circuitry or motherboard.
